Hi, I was just wondering about Asperger's and hemisphere dominance. Here's a poll. :D

More of a balance, but leaning towards left.

I think I'm right-brained.

My friend has observed that I'm completely left brained. It's been found that my right brain isn't completely dead, but it's not stimulated enough, possibly because I have no interest in emotions or people. On the flip side, I would benefit from looking at the entire picture rather than being focused on details. Apparently, I've been told that blindfolding the opposite eye of your dominant brain helps your less dominant side improve.

I'm pretty much even, though maybe slightly more left-brained. I do write with my right hand.

I presume my left hemisphere is dominant as I am right handed.

If I did that, I'd be almost blind....my sight and hearing are both somewhat defective on my left side....hence my theory that there might be something wrong with my left hemisphere....my dyscalculea might be connected with it as well.

.....no wait....never mind....I am confused.....I am right brained...but I see BETTER out of my right eye..which is controlled by my left brain..right?

So maybe my problems somehow lie in the fact that there are problems with my dominant hemisphere....

whatever....i am no expert...just theorising....

I'm one of the odd folks that truly ambidextrous... the only reason I can't write with both hands is that my first grade teacher tied my right hand behind my back and would me with a ruler if she found me writing with it... there were no left handed kids in the class and she felt there needed to be one.

I'm so right-handed I type with one hand! I've tried typing the traditional way, but it's a lot slower than my right-hand-only method.

The idea of one side of the brain being dominant is a myth. Unless you've had your corpus callosem (sp?) removed, both sides of your brain work together in everything you do and experience, from creativity to logic to emotions. It has been shown that in women, both sides are slightly better integrated, but that is only a minor difference. The right brain/left brain idea was based on speculation before we had the neuroimaging devices and body of research that exist today.

Hemisphere dominance isn't just handedness, though a lot of left handed people are right brained.

It's if you're more arty, abstract, creative (right brained) or logical, technical, mechanical (left brained) in your aptitudes. But if EvilKimEvil is correct, it's basically just a way to label your abilities.

Took a test that says I scored 13 on left brained, and 5 on right brained, lol.

http://www.web-us.com/brain/braindominance.htm

I've been told that I'm left-brained many times before, and have always thought of myself as left-brained.
