I was curious is it a Aspergers trait to be focused on your schedule mostly? I ask because I know what's going on around me and the real world, but for example I am more worried about my father, dog, female friend, and fixing my personal life. I worry because I sometimes seem ''someplace else'' or can be in my own mind or imagination for hours, and meanwhile my family can't barely go an hour without calls, facetime, etc. I worry if it's an Aspie trait or something else is also going on, do we still have small remains of low function Autism? even in Kindergarten or Pre-K I walked out of the class room, lost in my own thoughts and forgot where I was. I often don't feel a connection with many NT's or on the same page, I don't even like living in the suburbs where the houses are close together, prefer open spaces.

Hyperfocus can be both a blessing and a curse.
Use it to advantage while you can because it IS possible to lose the ability.

When I hyperfocus, I lose sense of all time.

Somewhere between the lines of hyperfocus and rigidity.
But the offset is related to that is prioritization, working memory, the ability to zoom in or out and switching gears easily.


To some extent, problems with processing space; if you're too busy dealing and processing things in the inside (or a particular thing) especially if you're not able to ignore it, you won't have a lot of space left to observe let alone contend on the outside and much less so multitask.

I have this particular problem myself.
Lessening and solving whatever trapped emotions I'm carrying lessens whatever piled up encumbering processing space stealing crap I had to cope while it's living in my damn headspace rent free.

In which isn't necessarily hyperfocus, but it's the lack of internal interoceptive filtering coupled with yet to develop ability to switch gears (poor traction; over reliance on momentum, intolerance over inertia) and grounding yourself into a direction you want.


Since I don't have ADHD, I believe monotropism can be controlled and utilize past it's basic functions and features, reaping only more upsides and with little or less downsides if I find the right conditions...
... Which I actually did a few times, even if I don't have the fullest extent of my executive function.
