Ok, so I think many people say in their profiles, but I'm curious of a polls results :) Sorry, I know all diagnoses are not available on the poll...
Please just comment below if you want to add something!
Thanks!

ps if you believe HFA and Aspergers is the same thing and can't honestly comment with above options, please just put Aspergers if that is what you have.

How about undiagnosed PDD-NOS? I could put "other autistic spectrum disorder" but that would assume a diagnosis. The thing is my "C" category is present but relatively mild and could be explained by Inattentive ADD. The other criteria I have in a big way. They thought I had Schizoid PD as a young adult but that was many years before Asperger's was a diagnosable condition so it wasn't on the radar. But anyway I have been as I am since I was two.

Asperger's. I might be a bit more 'PDD-NOS' though.

Asperger's. I was diagnosed when I was 15, in the spring of '06.

For me, this all began with "Manic-Depressive with psychotic tendencies" from an MSW and Thorazine from a shrink way back in '81 ... and now I am here where things finally make sense.

I had to pick "other" because I am not yet professionally diagnosed. In true Aspergian fashion, I can't say "I have Asperger's" because while everything I have researched deepens my conviction, it is not "truth" but only a working hypothesis and hence I cannot validly claim anything other than my conjecture.

That said, I think that I may actually be HFA because while I could speak at a typical age (with a precocious vocabulary), my capacity for initiating and sustaining conversations is severely limited and that is one of the criteria that differentiates Asperger's from HFA.

Asperger's. Unofficially diagnosed by educators.

PDD-NOS, however, I am not sure if I have it, but I think I probably do. I thought for a long time that my diagnosis was Asperger's and was totally convinced that I didn't have it. I think PDD-NOS is a a better fit.

I decided to go with "family member with Asperger's" on my profile because it's the only option I can say with absolute assurance. Ironically my son does better socially than I did at his age (not that he's particularly skilled at it). Before he was diagnosed it was commented on by family members how much alike we were.

My diagnosis, as I saw it, was Aspergers/Autism.
