This morning I was boarded upon one of my company's private jets and in the air to CA at 6:00 AM. I am in Folsom this morning for an all day team meeting with my internal customers. I will have lunch with team members and get to meet with my boss face to face. At 6:30 PM the private jet will land back in Oregon.

I taught Engineering in Jr High last week and am participating in an IEP for my "little" Aspie today.

Not all days are bad days for us.

Just thought I would post the other side since we spend so much time complaining on this forum sometimes. LOL!

If we're sharing successes of the day, I have one. I was able to get into the best housing on my college campus for next year. I'm pretty nervous since I'll be living with three other girls, but really hopeful about it. I was actually able to go in there and change the plans I had made about housing previously and be willing to go into a room where I don't know anyone else.

I think a lot of people here step back from negativity in the forums, it can get to you at times.

I find it hard to say positive things here, as many take it to heart and say you are rubbing their noses in their pain and suffering.

I had some of my best waves in over 10 years this summer just gone. I put a tremendous amount of energy into my surfing when I DX'd my aspergers 8 months ago. Had surfers from my beach approaching me and congratulating me on some of the rides/long tubes. After a lot of knocks to my self esteem, its nice to be appreciated

Life can be beautiful! Even for aspies!

I know the basic concept of "mowing the lawn" is not much of an accomplishment, but its something my dad usually does but since they're on vacation I decided to do it. We have 4 acres so my dad bought a riding mower 3 years ago. I swear that was one of the most relaxing things I've done in a long time. You don't even notice the sound of the engine after awhile. You just kind of get into a pattern and fade into the scenery.

Today was a nice breezy 70 degrees. A perfect spring day. When summer comes I doubt I'll have the same thing to say about riding the lawn mower lol.

Oh and I've been sober for two whole days now......also not much of an accomplishment, but its a start. After a year then I'll celebrate.

Awesome!! :D It's not all doom and gloom, haha.

I've had a pretty good day, (though not a patch on yours lol) as I finally completed a video game I've been having some trouble with xD

Life is good (sometimes)

..... tired but happy.....

I find this to be the case anywhere. I try hard to focus on the positive things rather than wallowing in the negative, but then people think I'm bragging or something. I just can't win!

I'm paying 3/4 as much in taxes this year as I made total in 2009. That's something to celebrate, right? :P

Zen (and others), I hope you never stop posting your reasons to celebrate, I always find threads like these inspiring and energizing. we are different, but in no way inferior. We have our low periods, but we also are capable of experiencing great joy and wonder, and I often feel privileged to perceive the world the way I do. There are some people who may feel bad after reading a celebratory post and will say so, but there are also many people who are helped by such stories, and you may never hear from them, but they're out there.

today I spent the afternoon in the garden in a near meditative state, picking up litter and fallen seedpods from a local invasive nuisance tree. I felt the wind and sun on my skin, saw the little shoots poking out of the ground, watched an ant trying to carry a dead spider back to its nest, and listened to the birds calling to one another, and came away feeling refreshed.

may we all have many more days like these!

I'm not freezing. I am only two more characters short of completing my Stargate. You have to collect character's to get a piece of the gate. I'm about to work on illustrating my sister's birthday card. Dishes and laundry is done. And the internet started working again.

I usually have lots of trouble reading texts more than a few pages long, but I occasionally have random 'good spells' where things go back to near-normal:

In the last 3-4 days I've gotten through about 80% of a 351 page book (read some of the chapters out of order so I'm not exactly sure how far I've gotten) and the information is sticking well. (And it's enjoyable, which is very cool since it's been a while since that last happened.)
