What's the best gift you could receive for your birthday?

No party?

But in all seriousness, you can't go wrong with an Amazon.com gift certificate.

Gift cards to bookstores or electronic stores? :) Depends on their interest. I would be very happy with restaurant gift cards as I love to eat. If you know them very well a good movie or video game can be a big hit, too. If you know what they like and don't already have it. Gift cards to trendy clothes stores are not likely to be as well appreciated. Most aspies are so picky about their clothes.

If you have small budget, some homemade treats in several small portions that can be frozen would be great. Don't give them a whole slab of fudge, they might eat it all at once and get sick. :D

Peace and quiet with the instant and permanent disappearance of all aggressive NTs, hypocrites and intimidating frat jocks from the face of this earth. That one is easy because I've just had another long night of such intimidation and repeated door slamming by such types. Second choice would be a magic wand to make the above happen. Third choice would be for such types of people to instantly become profoundly affected Aspies so that they would get a full taste of their own medicine. Come to think of it maybe that should be my first choice.

Who is Aspie?

Anyway I would love all 10 seasons of Stargate: SG1 or Atlantis on dvd. If not that then an action figure of Daniel Jackson from series 1.

I would want a gift card to a book store, a microbe stuffed animal (bcs I collect them) or a delicious meal (nothing makes me happier than food) :D

This.

On the other hand a gift certificate might be better. You might get me the wrong thing or something I already have. You wouldn't believe the number of times I've been given a book I already own or a book that was close to something that's a special interest of mine but not close enough.

Same here.

However, most stores in my state (or at least my city) don't sell what I'm looking for, so I just ask for money so I can buy what I want online myself.

Peace and quiet.

Seriously, though, I don't see the point of gift-giving, and would much rather get something useful than something that just serves as a symbol of a relationship. I know that the relationship exists; why would I have to constantly get confirmation of it?

BWAHAHA I'm not getting you what you want for your birthday

Anyways, people give me CASH MONEY. Not publix giftcards. Not tools I have 3 sets of already. Not Armorall Wipes. Cash. If that doesn't work for them I'll happily recommend they put down $100+ on whatever car part is next on my shopping list. 225/55/16 Yokohama s.drives is looking good right now.

I'd say the best gift I could get is someone realizing I don't want to be fussed over or bought a cake.

for this aspie, the gift of fluently facile self-sufficience and independant abundant good health and wealth. short of that, somebody's undying loving friendship and somebody who wants my loving friendship as well. i can dream, in any case.

How about a gift certificate (paper or electronic) for my favourite computer store? (hint: Present Shop is the wrong verb tense.)
