Often times I will say things to people, and have them lost in translation, to me saying a comment seems perfectly logical but upon reflection is taken completely the wrong way:

Telling a girl she is big enough and ugly enough to take care of herself - Meaning she is old enough and wise enough to be able to figure things out on her own...(not one of my smartest moments)

Asking my dad why he is doing what he is doing which got translated as "why the hell are you wasting your time with that?" when I actually meant why are you doing what you are doing and why does it make it better? (when he is building a website with html but I don't understand the process)

Telling a man who was bothering one of my friends that:
A) she had a boyfriend already...
B) upon his reply of saying she can't have two boyfriends for whatever logic he was displaying that she indeed can, she just doesn't know it yet...(this one was actually seen as funny by her and diffused the situation and got rid of him...though someone took control of my mouth at that particular time)

Telling the biggest as*hole in my town that while his large muscles might protect him from the cold he was whining about, asking why he obviously didn't have the brains to wear a coat in winter? (though for some reason he ignored that, maybe he was saving it for a rainy day)

and too many more to mention...

I think that is my greatest issue, I tend to be quite blunt and not actually take the five hours or so to frame my question or comment in the correct light, have you ever had any faux pas on this magnitude and wished you could take it back?

If you asked me to keep a diary of all the s**t that comes out of my mouth the wrong way, that I wish I could immediately take back, I would have a high school notebook filled within a week.

I sound awful prejudiced in this thread: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt168794.html

In that thread, I was trying to say that not all people who aren't the smartest are all the same and that there are some who just aren't that smart but they try and then just people who are ignorant. I stated it badly so it ended up being misinterpreted and I came across as arrogant.

Yes and recently I found out I have an pragmatic language impairment. Even as I type now it's painful for me to put my words in clear concise order and in an illicit way that makes sense. I've had people take my words and even my gestures the wrong way. I'll usually vent in my journal where no one can see it. If anything I wish I was a mute and communicated in sign language. Words and language are very hard and I'm often reminded by this forum and others how debilitating it is.

It seems like I never stop doing that.

I said that my Grade 7 music teacher was Gay, 24 years ago. I still wish that I could take it back.

I get things wrong lots of times, especially when trying to be funny at the wrong moment.

A few months ago I was bullied into going on a training day I didn't want. Our trainer greeted me with 'tea or coffee?', to which I found myself giving my usual reply: 'tea please, coffee tends to keep me awake'. Oops! We parted as friends, but was a close thing!

I liked this guy in middle school. I barely spoke. He approached me oneday play fighting. I kicked him in the balls.
He told me during lunch "That hurt me!" I stared at him smiling and said nothing back. On the inside I was thinking.."I'm sorry" but I didn't tell him that.

Some guy: "You know, I feel really sorry for those rich football players complaining to the NFL"

Me: "Huh, why?"
*awkward silence*
Me: "...Oh"
