One of the few darkest secrets of my life that nobody outside my family or WP knows is how I really did not want to be human as kid. I even got locked up in a mental hospital for it. I spend much of my life during that time chasing people on all fours, and acting like an animal 24/7.

I prefered to be a carnivous animal like a tiger, dog, panther, jaguar or something like that. This phase lasted from when I was 8-12. I think that socializing got to be really hard for me as I got older and wild animals have such simple lives. hunt, eat, sleep, play...repeat. It was not so complicated as human life is.

Has anyone else done this???

What about other non human life forms??

I like having thumbs. Having fur would be irritating, especially in the intense heat. Being able to walk on two feet has many advantages. Same with having a brain that can outsmart even the most intelligent of animals in other classes. Yeah, I kinda like being a human.

But, that's not to say that it wouldn't be nice to live a simple life. I hate how complex everything has to be, mostly on the topic of sociology and economics.

economics are sociology are both needlessly complicated.

Having fur..I think would have its advantages...never having to go shop for clothes plus no crazy fashion fads to worry about. You are what you wear...only one coat to worry about.
I think our human brain gets us in more trouble than it solves
4 legged animals can run faster cuz they have 4 wheel drive.
I am rather clumsy so I would rather like being lower to the ground.

I just want the ability to turn into an animal when I'd rather be one, and have human be my default form.

I loved the book series Animorphs about... as you can probably guess from the name if you didn't already know... people turning into animals. Around the same age as you actually. I truly believed I could turn into an animal if only I tried hard enough, and that the only reason I hadn't succeeded yet was cause I wasn't trying quite hard enough.

I still have that kind of thinking about everything. I fully believe I can achieve things that my family members think are delusional goals.

Most people from environmental orgs or animal welfare groups hate human beings AND hate being humans.

I always wanted to be a dolphin since young.

Cool, I loved all the Animorphs books as well.

I sometimes envy animals for the simple lives they lead. On the other hand, I do like my intelligence ever so much, and the fact that I don't really have any natural predators here.

I used to pretend I was a dog, in front of people too but never got sent to a psychiatric hospital.

I loved dogs so much as a kid I would copy how they walked, ate, even fold my fingers to look like paws.

I like to think of myself as an alien. It used to be Time Lord, now it's closer to Vulcan.

I envy my cats sometimes. But I'm there as a mediator between them and other people who just yell at them and expect them to understand.

I used to think I was a dog until I was 14. It seemed obvious to me that I couldn't possibly be a human, despite superficially looking like one, since I couldn't understand them and they couldn't understand me either. So I only spent time with dogs, and only socialized with dogs, and acted mostly like a dog permanently.

In fact, people recognized this and mockingly called me a "feral child", but they may not have known how close they were to reality by saying that.

Despite my obvious problems, and extremely weird behaviour, no one ever suggested or attempted to take me to a psychologist. I can't explain why.

I can understand why some people have the feeling that they would rather be an animal, but I personally don't have this urge. I'm happy being a human and I'm happy with who I am, but on the other hand, being a lion or tiger would be very awesome..

I love cats, dogs too. :)

It isn't that I don't want to be human, but I've just never been able to feel like part of the human race. Human-like in a lot of ways yes, but never fully human. I have always felt so out of place amongst and so alienated from other people. I didn't believe that I was really human and felt confused as to what I was supposed to be. Before I knew about AS I often used to tell my counsellors that I felt like an alien. Not really sure what they made of that.

I've always wanted to be a cat. My cat's life is so simple and comfortable.

Eat when you want, sleep when you want, kill birds when you want and having a couple of humans to give you anything you want. That sounds awesome. :3

That's right.XDOnce when someone says that someone treats them like dogs or something, I told them I envy them because the only dogs I've known live a more comfortable life than I do. And the cat even more so. The only unpleasantness I think she has in her life is when she has to go to the vet.
