"Don't Worry, Be Happy." 8O God, that song scares the crap outta me! *shudders*

And where do I happen to stumble across it after having avoided hearing it for the past decade? Right here on WP in The Haven! Do not want!

Does anyone else have this peculiar aversion to certain songs, or am I alone in this? I also dislike "Window Licker" and "Come to Daddy" by Aphex Twin, though as I understand it, even some NTs get the skeevies listening to those.

I like the song Windowlicker but I admit the music video does creep me out.

As for an aversion to a song for some reason I loathe Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo. Mostly because of the main line "Whoah-Oh Radio" just sounds dumb and repeats to many times.

I also hate Who Let The Dogs Out by the Baha Men.

^ Yes! With those monstrous, bearded females! 8O

"Faith" by George Michael is another song that gets me panicky.

I think I can relate a little bit.... is the creepiness of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" something you could describe as an "eerie hollow-ness"?

No, I don't think so. The incessant whistling comes to mind, however. I get that it's supposed to be a "feel-good" song, but it doesn't have any positive affect on me.

Okay this is a commercial not a song. But I hear it come on the radio. It's an ad for Twisted Tea.

The news, weather, sports report and then goes to commercial break. Then this voice shouts out TEEEAAAA-WWWWiiiisteddd!! ! and I'm smacking at the radio for the mute button.

I can't stand anything by Erasure (and I'm also not fond of Don't worry be happy).

We had a car crash commercial screening here, in New Zealand, way back in the late 90s that was very graphic and unsettling. I can't quite do it justice on a forum, but the music was just very weird and creepy, with some guy making these sounds in the background that sounded like discordant, robotic laughter. "Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha." It was like a metronome.

One time, as a kid, I wasn't able to sleep one night, and my mum was watching NYPD Blue (good show, btw), which I could hear through the walls. Cue the ad break, and soon after that damn commercial, replete with the metronomic laughter, began to play. I leapt out of my bed, banging my ankle against a set of drawers along the way, and raced out into the living room in tears. It traumatised me to that extent. It was banned shortly thereafter, fortunately. :P

My ears were bleeding when I first listened to "Friday" by Rebecca Black. Why do I have to let my curiosity get the best of me?

I'm sorry to all Taylor Swift fans out there, but "Love Story" is too sugary sweet for my ears.
I'm sorry to all Katy Perry fans out there, but "Fireworks" never fails to dampen my mood.
I'm sorry to all Sean Kingston fans out there, but I don't understand why "Beautiful Girls" has gotten so many positive reviews.

I notice that shops often play these songs, so yeah, maybe the shop owners themselves love these songs.

I detest "Hallelujah". Largely because it's been recorded about a million times. Overhyping something makes me hate it very quickly.

I've never found "Don't Worry, Be Happy" particularly disturbing, but "The Laughing Policeman"...? That's the most sinister piece ever recorded.

I've just listened to Friday by Rebecca Black and I wish I didn't do that. That song is a total NT song. I can't stand it.

Weird aversion, no. All musics I dislike is because they are bad.

And talking about music, I suggest to my aspies mates to listen:
Henry Hall - Here Comes The Boogeyman
