Bright sunny weather does tend to improve my moods, but I am not too bad in gloomy weather. I can't stand air that's too dry or too humid, especially hot, humid air. Dry air makes me have dry coughs. Humid air makes it harder for me to breath, and gives me post nasal drip, which causes moister coughs. I have always had weak lungs, so I try to avoid getting colds, or being in humid air. I have never smoked, but when it's hot and humid, it seems like I had smoked. My lungs just can't handle it. Fortunately, where I live, in the summer we don't have that many hot, humid days, so I can usually get by with the windows open and the industrial strength fans on. The AC broke a long time ago, was fixed and broke again after a couple of days. That was several years ago. I think it over heated because it is mounted on the south side and has no awning. Any replacement would also over heat and break, so I didn't bother replacing it. With all the windows open, and the end room doors open, I get good four way circulation, and with the fans added to that, I am usually comfortable here. It is only when it occasionally gets really humid and warm or hot, that I have a problem. I end up sitting in the recliner in night shirt, nursing an ice pack, while being blasted by one of the industrial fans I own. I have one for the back end of the house and bathroom, one for the home office, and one for the living room. The kitchen has an overhead fan, plus it gets some of the blast from the living room. With all that I make out okay.
