I hate mirrors. I avoid mirrors at all costs. What about you?

I don't love or hate mirrors, they are just something that exist in most places for some reason or another. I like to look in the mirror to check to see if I am still attractive. They are handy on cars too, so that you can see what is behind you.

Why do you hate mirrors so much? Or is this meant to be some sort of metaphor what I have took literally? (If I have took something literally then I am now embarrassed). :)

I stare into mirrors to the point where I see features that aren't there. It's super hard to explain.

Bathroom mirrors are OK. Most other mirrors are annoying because they make me self-aware, which in turn makes me feel uncomfortable :?

@Joe90 No metaphor. I don't know why I hate mirrors. I just do.

I've always found mirrors strange. I live so much in my head that I tend to forget that I have a physical appearance. While I recognise the face in the mirror it isn't me; just a shell I live inside of. Don't know if this is autism related or some sort of disassociation or what. Been like that all my life.

haha I thought I was alone!
My partner thinks I'm vain because sometimes when we're talking online I stop for ages because I'm distracted by reflection. Normally I quite like what I see. but it's not exactly vanity, it's more like how you said; I forget I have an appearance, there isn't one for me etched in my mind, so every time I look in the mirror it's novel.

The same with any kind of reflection. So when I walk in town I sometimes end up staring at shop windows to see myself. >_<
I don't hate mirrors, but I hate photographs and webcams. That feels like it isn't me and feels more negative than the mirror does. Looking in the mirror is like seeing a cute girl who isn't me. =/

I sometimes stare at my eyes / face in the mirror, if I do this for a long time without blinking then eventually I start hallucinating.. This is very similar to what you are describing.

I like mirrors, I like to be able to see me while I move and it's very funny when there are two of more mirros one in front of the other.

I like them when I feel good about my body, and probably would not want to be in front of one when I'm ashamed of it. Fortunately, I work very hard to never be ashamed of my physique, so mirrors are fine for now...

I'm am in love with shiny things. Shiny things are the coolest thing on the planet. When shiny things get too clear (mirror) and I can see myself I avoid them as much as possable.

It depends. They're useful whenever I bother with my appearance (fixing hair, the occassional makeup, or making sure the sunscreen is even), but I usually avoid looking into them. I don't know why, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. Whenever I brush my teeth, I always block the mirror with something. I know it's my reflection, but it still feels awkward having someone stare at you.

This too. If I'm a certain type of depressed I don't want to see myself. Then I hate them.
I think during school at one point I realised I hadn't looked into a mirror for around a year.

I like to put two of them together and stare into infinity.

Holy crap, you hit it on the head. Especially at night It happens. I sometimes think my house is possessed by ghosts that watch over me. O-o.
