Basically, I'm wondering if adult aspies like Harry Potter movies more than NT adults?

I love Harry Potter movies. I love the music, the magic, the theme, the characters, etc. I just read another post about aspies who long for their childhood and that reminded me that I wanted to ask this question.

Please only answer "yes" if you really like/love these movies.

As a side question, which characters do you think show aspie traits?

I never was interested in Harry Potter. I'd much rather watch Lord of the Rings.

I went to watch most of the Harry Potter films with my mate and his wife. He loves them all as much as I do and his wife is more Harry Potter obsessive than I am about most subjects.

edit . Lord of the Rings was fantastic (not as good as the books tho) just why elves at helms deep!! !

No 'they're ok' option?

I prefer LoTR, too.

Harry Potter was a special interest of mine a while back. Still really like it. Most people think I'm a bit weird because of it.

I like certain ones, and dislike others. I like the books much, much more than any of them.

I don't like Harry Potter movies at all. I wouldn't watch one if someone even gave me a DVD.

Me too........the books are amazing....one of my favorite series of all time............I've read the entire series three times and The Prisoner of Azkaban 5 times. The movies were disappointing to me because they failed to capture the complexity of the books.

I've reread the series way too many times. I've reread 4 5 and 6 the most.

Don't think I would sit down and watch a movie or even read one of the books now. Lost interest after Prisoner of Azkaban as I entered my teens.

When I was young James Bond was my special interest. But that was a long time ago. Nowadays I'm sure either HP or LOTR would do the same for me.

I still adore certain aspects of the early 007 films, though. The set designs by Ken Adam, and the music by John Barry. The music can still sometimes take me to a particular place that I liked to go to all that time ago.

It troubles me less nowadays that I always identified more with Blofeld than Bond. Blofeld had vision, great taste in decor, and was an outsider, whereas Bond was just a patriotic thug. I suppose they were both fairly ethically challenged...

I loved both the books and the movies, but I know plenty of NT's who enjoyed them as well.

No, but then I have lost much of my affection for fiction in the last 5 years. I end up tearing fiction apart with my mind to look for logical inconsistencies or simplistic plot lines and themes and it has ruined most fictional things for me. There are exceptions, but they are fairly limited.
