Are there sounds that put you in a very comfortable state of relaxation and send pleasant chills down your spine?

For me, that would be:
- thunderstorms
- the sound of pens writing on paper
- certain voices
- certain eating noises (depends heavily on the person)

This is going to sound completely stupid, and it's kind of a one-occasion kind of thing, but...

...the one sound I recall that did that to me, was the 'transforming' sound effect in an episode of Transformers: Beast Wars. It had been missing from that series, though it was the standard noise for every Transformers in the 80s show. The Beast Wars episode in question features a special guest star from the original series, Ravage. When he transforms and makes that noise, I just melt. :P

Negative Chills

-the high pitched screeching noise that buses and subway trains sometimes make when they stop/screech to a halt- or any high pitched screeching noise
- knuckles cracking
-when everything is very quiet- eating and breathing noises
- too many different noises mixed together

OOPS I didn't read the OP's post properly. I listed things that send negative chills down my spine.

Positive chills
- water running...rain, waterfalls, showers
-cats purring
- low pitched continual sounds like the computer fan humming

Um you know those little scanners at some stores like Wal-Mart? The ones you can use to check the prices of items? I hate those. I really, really hate those they are grating as heck. That sudden *BEEP!* Plus they do not scan well so you have to wiggle the bar code under the red light back and forth until it does and the beep never comes at the same time >,<

I hate wheels squeaking and sand-paper being used, also. High pitches and loud bags in generally, but mostly high pitch sounds bother me the most.

Sometimes when someone is being very kind, like when I go to the library, and the librarian is explaining something to me, I get very relaxed and zoned out. I don't know if my brain is producing Alpha waves, or what, but my wife and I call it the "flattered feeling". It doesn't happen very often, but when it does it wonderful.

Positive chills? Hmm....

I love the sound of water. Often i've gotten relaxing chills from the sound of waterfalls or rain in general. Only if i'm in a peaceful environment though :)
