Meaning, are we more serious when talking? People say a whole lot of things and usually they are joking but whenever I talk I'm always serious. What are your experiences?

My experience is I joke all the time but people often don't recognize it as joking.

I concur with Rascal77s. I also joke all the time.

BTW, is that Ted in your avatar?

I only really joke spontaneously; it seems to go along with my overactive imagination. Things occur to me in a lot of situations that I think are funny, and I say them whether I think others will find them funny or not. They may not always be appropriate, and most of the time I don't even realize that until after I've said them. In fact, they're one of the few things that regularly get past my rather stringent filter for appropriateness.

I joke all the time, but the delivery is entirely deadpan, so it takes some getting used to. People who don't know me usually mistake it for seriousness.

I joke all the time, but since I usually use obscure 80s/90s references, not too many people get it.

It depends, I joke when Im comfortable. But when I joke, I usually end up coming off as weird or offensive. So sometimes I just dont. When I was young, I never joked.

I take myself seriously so often and deliver my humor in such a(n unintentionally) deadpan way that people often mistake me for being serious during the occasional times when I am in fact joking. Might also be related to other people's tendencies to always think that I'm upset about something when I am actually just deep in thought.
