You know, I personally think the Autistic Pride symbol needs a revampment. The old "puzzle" ribbon is being used by curebies while the recent one looks too much like a gay pride symbol with the rainbow and all. How am I supposed to display autistic pride without looking like a gay guy or a curebie? Who else agrees with me on this? Sorry if this topic causes any fights to break out......

How about an image of Einstein strangling a curebie with one of it's own gay ribbons?

Someone on Oasis once suggested a buttefly.
"Somewhere I saw a fractal art work of a butterfly done in kaleidoscopes, it was beautiful, and unique and odd but brilliant. I wish that could be the AS "symbol." The visual statement was awesome, butterflies are delicate yet strong, colorful, cocoon themselves to grow and develop... etc etc."

What about the Nerodiveristy "symbol"?

Yeah. Seems like the only ways to display autistic pride are either flashing the curebie puzzle or the homo ribbon. It's just not fair!

Perhaps you could suggest an alternative, like I did, instead of just moaning....

If you don't like something, work to change it, or just shut up.....don't just sit there complaining.

F | .. _ | _ . _ . | _ . _ | ",
Flash F word Google and bring a hole NEW meaning to the WORD F... Or so learn how to use it ;)...

Warning trying to imitate British humour will cause Fatal Misunderstanding ;)

Hey hey, everybody thinks I'm gay anyway. :)

But "autistic" "pride"? It seems to me that the only people proud to have AS are those too high functioning to even get diagnosed.

I don't tell anyone anyway the word F is a better symbol... Its universal simple and everyone will get your point ;); to me only thing that really is different is the personality type (I), Neurological Pathways...

The butterfly represents some weird skin disease where your skin never heals and it blisters constantly. It's horribly debilitating and most people with it don't make it past their teen years.

So yeah, I would not use that symbol.

That said, why not just A puzzle piece? It could be blue, a color representative of intelligence (as is yellow!) and internal reflection?

I just don't get the ribbons, I used to steal them off people's cars. I now have over 80 yellow support our troops and god bless america ribbons sitting in my living room just WAITING to be used in some awesome prank on someone (we're going to cover an unsuspecting friend's car with them one of these mornings).

Yeah, but you know what I mean.

Male baggy jeans, and all that with both arms up with middle finger sticking out, might be able to put a female in back to back at 15 degree angel saying the same, I think it will look better without the female :D

"Quote:- Sit & swivel on this Fools"...

I think it should have a autism savant do a mini city on a logo or something with a quote up and below, with maybe a autism guy in the middle… in colour, while city is in black & white…

As we should have a great graphical logo than a basic one…

That doesn't seem true. Some people seem a LOT more adversly affected than I am, and are STILL happy!! !! !! !

FRANKLY, I spent my LIFE trying to change! The last thing I decided to try to change was when after I was 41!! !! !! FORTY-ONE! I didn't know about AS. If you told me I was autistic, I would say NO-WAY! Of course, describe some things and..... THAT'S ME!

So why should I get diagnosed? It isn't like they could do anything. The POSITIVE things make me who I am(some set me apart ANYWAY), and I LIKE them!
