Anyone else not watch TV?

In the past 5 years or so I have not been much of a TV watcher, but now I have been not watching tv at all. Its been about a month now, and I don't miss it at all. It may be easier for me because I don't like sports and could care less about celebrities. I do however like movies, and plan to occasionally still pop one in the player, but that's about it. If it wasn't for my wife being hooked on several shows, I would save $120 a month on cable bill.

Anyone else not watch the boob tube?

I am also not terribly found of television; few shows truly capture my attention, and I would rather stare at screens that I can interact with. That being said, I will watch a television show or two with the family every once in a while.

Hubby (he is a NT though) and I have not watched TV since 2008. We don't even have a TV at home

I got rid of my TV way back in 1992. I was in college, working full-time, getting burned out, and not doing very well. I realized I would either have to give up alcohol and TV or my plans for a decent future. I haven't missed either one of them; giving up both were some of the best decisions I ever made.

I do watch an occasional movie, but do so on my computer. I don't even have a TV in my house.

i only watch 1 show on television. i make sure to record it every night to avoid commercials; they really bother me to an extreme.

No TV since 1989...was raised without it until the age of 14 and never really learned how to watch it properly. If I'm in a motel on a trip, I'll watch it. These times have only confirmed my suspicion that I'm not missing anything. I've seen clips on you Tube and I've watched a bit at other folks houses...I do spend a fair amount of time online however...

Ironically, I haven't had any interest in watching TV, except for the news & weather early every morning, in 20 years. And the news is just in the background, and I listen to bits of it while seldom turning to look at the screen. I said ironically, because I own over 300 TV sets. I'm a vintage TV collector and TV technology nut.

I watch TV, but not on the TV, if that makes sense.
A lot of the time other family members are watching it, and I love going on the computer. So I like to watch it elsewhere online, on demand, on YouTube etc.

I don't really watch regular broadcast television at. Occasionally, I will have a small Netflix marathon when I have time, but I have little to no idea what shows are on right now.

smashed the last tv of mine some years ago and stopped buying them due to the costs of HD tvs.
we have a sh***y tv in the loung whiche is in a specialist custom built cabinet that cannot be hit,head banged or removed,its got unbreakable glass on the front,woud love one in room but cant afford it.

love watching several programs on the cbeebies channel;something special,third & bird,the wonderpets and in the night garden are favourites.
with ITNG,love the way it works in a very scheduled way,it does the same routine every time from start to finish.
its great having a two year old niece because she loves it as well and when am visiting her mas house am able to watch it on her sky+ box.

I never ever wanted to watch TV but i use a Laptop mainly to do most of working out and problem solving but as in actually watching television on cable i have not watched any programme in around 2 years that has commercials and what not.

I went for years without watching TV. I bought a flat screen last year just to watch the Olympics. That was rare for me because, up until last year, I didn't care to watch even the Olympics.

I've kept the TV around only to watch The Big Bang Theory and Hell's Kitchen.

We haven't had cable since 2009. Our TV is now strictly for movies or video games. The select few shows I like can just be torrented.

I have Netflix and Hulu Plus. My NT wife uses them more than me, but I do like to watch documentaries on specific topics and use the TV to create background noise. I also watch X-files and some movies/TV shows. And I used to have trouble with strained eye muscles with older CRT TVs because I can see them flickering. Our flat screen doesn't flicker very much and it doesn't have a high-pitch noise, either.

I abhor TV. I can't even spend time with people in their homes if the TV is in the background.

I have a tv for playing dvd's: documentaries, a few good movies, and exercise dvd's. Haven't missed the rest, and, like others have said, find it depressing and scary to watch mainstream shows when I'm visiting someone with tv. I've watched a few shows on Hulu and Youtube and occasionally watch network news web site clips.
