The sun is out here today and I am really irritated, I can't stop itching because if it. By the time I get home tonight I am going to be raw as I can't stop myself from scratching

Does the sun affect anybody else in this way?

No, but being outside at night (for whatever reason) does.

Yes!! !

I get a heat rash with even the most limited exposure to the sun (sunscreens do not work).

The sun always makes my scalp itch like mad.

I've always avoided being in the sun too much as I have red hair and pale skin. Even so I had to have a Basal Cell Carcinoma removed from my head earlier this year and there is another something on my leg that will need treatment.

Be careful of the sun peeps!

I burn easily but also hate and fear the sun. That might be tied to how many more people will be out, and how much more noise etc.

No, but I am hyper sensitive to sunlight. It causes a sensory overload. Hate it. Can't be out in it for too long. I love the rain and night time though.

I hate it and everyone keeps telling me how lovely it is that the sun is shining and I want to scream no to them.

Careful when you get itchy in the sun, if you get what I get. At first it's just itchy so you scratch it, then it goes red or white, which usuall happens when you scratch. Then you get these clear bumps and should you scratch ones of these off...ohhh the pain! It stings and clear liquid oozes out and the stinging just gets worse.

I'm still getting sun sores (fortunately not the bumps - there are a few) and it's been raining and overcast for a few days. My anxiety also makes me scratch my itchy skin too. I do it in bed before I sleep and it's really hard to stop. I used to wear gloves to bed but then my skin went dry.

I wonder if Polysporin might help with any of those reactions. It works great on most of mine no matter what it is - any form of annoyed skin.

Another thing I tried on mysterious bumpy rashes was pouring white vinegar on it (don't touch, don't scratch) - it seems to neutralize it. Gives some relief, anyway.

And then there's Desonide, which is a prescription hormonal cream. It puts an instant end to agonizing itches which I scratch in my sleep. At one point my whole face was bright red swollen with scratched itchies. One swipe of Desonide and it stopped immediately and began to heal.

No it doesn't make me itch, but initial exposure to a bright sun makes me sneeze, and a really bright environment hurts my eyes. Too bad parasols aren't in style again for you. Or maybe you could bring them back.

I think I am going to have to give in and get pills or cream. It is driving me to distraction. It is making me irritated by other things too.

I hate the mere presence of the sun but I need its heat to live.

The sun doesn't make me itch, but I feel like I can feel my skin burning, so I don't like to be out in it because it makes me worry about sunburn and skin cancer (I have really pale skin). It's one of the things I spend a lot of time obsessing over and trying to avoid, even though I know I'm going overboard and I need vitamin D (I supplement, but still). I'm going to be getting some UPF clothes this summer, so hopefully I can start going outside without having to put on so much sunscreen all over and feel panicked. I'll only have to put it on my face and hands.

My skin does not tolerate the sun well at all. I can burn within half an hour, even with Factor 30 sunscreen. The heat that comes with the sun makes me feel tired and ill if I am in it unprotected for longer than 20 minutes.

I love the sun but it is very very bright. It's a rare occurrence in Scotland so I try to enjoy when it appears.

The Sun doesn't irritate me, but sometimes I wish they featured more fiction and less essays.
