Do any of you have things that you do to keep your memory sharp, or improve it, etc...? Do you know of any GOOD books? I just want to do what I can to be consistently 100%!
I have started reading books again recently, as well as reading science journals and writing poetry to keep my mind going.

Oh well, a lot of people here have discussed this in one way or another. Based on what I heard about how YOU guys remember, etc... I would say I USED to be a 9(10 being best), and today am between 7 and 8. I would LOVE to get to a 10, but am trying to get back to 9. It is crazy because it is almost like seeing a picture out of focus, and I just want some glasses!
This is how I kinda felt and it made me miserable, hence the reading and stuff again. However, I realise I have been isolating myself from others more in doing this, I find it hard to mix the two. I'm either social and brain dead or sharp and witty with no one to share that with

My EVENT memory is just TOO good. Just yesterday I compared a couple series and someone remarked "HOW CAN YOU REMEMBER ALL THAT STUFF!"!
I get this a lot. I seem to be able to remember stuff that's happened no matter how far back it was, or how insignificant it was at the time, I will remember it.

My LONGTERM memory is OK. If I remember something a few weeks, I may remember it a few DECADES.
My long term memory is very good, I think that's why my event memory is honed to perfection

My SHORTTERM memory is ok. I guess my problem is it isn't as big as I would like, and a little too slow to get to the longterm.
Mine has been rubbish recently, I can get very forgetful as a result of this. Hence by reading and stuff, hopefully this will train my mind to work better in every department as my short term memory used to be, well, better.

Anyway, it seems like so many memory books talk about the same little tricks, etc... I just looked at one that claimed some of my goals were IMPOSSIBLE, even though it is no more than I had. It ALSO claimed that things I can do can't be done. I figure if they sy it isn't possible, they can't help me.
Steve
I never really pay any attention to memory books, especially if they claim some goals are impossible. They may be impossible for some but not for others, everyone is different.
