When you are reading a topic here at WP, do you usually first note the screen name of the person who is posting before reading the post? Or do you ignore this most of the time and just read the post, then maybe note who it is sometimes? Also, do you frequently look at the profiles of other posters?

Thank you for your participation.

it used to be the avatar that was first noticed, but ever since having to relie on stupid limited mobile network data have had a firefox addon which blocks all images at a press and dont see avatars anymore.
now its the username that notice first and then the topic title, will always read posts from anyone though as long as its nothing to do with animal abuse and its not someone that have strongly believed to be a sockpuppet of a banned user am not fond of for their past grooming and severe bullying towards self.

people are easy to spot by their personality coming through and writing, even if their style isnt so obvious,it comes through.

Primarily I look at the subject line or title is all. Very rarely do I see who the OP was and often go back to look after reading thru the thread.

i normally look at the subject, then the avatar, but only when quotes start appearing is when i start placing the usernames in it. altho i do just find it interesting to see usernames(the same quirky interest i have in reading the names in the show, video game, or movie credits).

I recognize posters by the avatar.
I always notice who is making the post.

Sometimes I can guess who started a thread before I click on the title. Not all the time, but there are some topics on the right side of the opening WP page that I can guess the person right away, and it turns out that I'm right.

I always notice the username, but it doesn't really affect how I post unless I've recently sent them a PM (I'd add in a joke or something).

I never pay attention to names, not in real life, not in any forum or game.
I just read the posts and if I think the author information is somehow important for understanding (for example I need to know the age or country he is from) I look at the area on left.

However I can recognize some people by their writing style or topic they speak about. For example I can easily quess a post is written by the polish guy (pawel-something) when he speaks about Poland or there are some polish mistyped words in english text - he uses google translator. I also recognize the guy that tends to speaks about himself in 3rd person and the 15 year old turkish boy that used to start a lot of topics about different girls wondering if he should friend/date them.

Yes.

I leave threads and don't comment if one person who makes me particularly uncomfortable is posting in it (and often dominating it with misinformation). It just makes me too upset and frustrated so I don't want to get involved. Others don't seem to call them out on their awful behaviour so it must only be me who finds it extremely problematic. WP is for everyone, even obvious liars who I can see are manipulating people, unfortunately, so I don't say what I feel in case it comes back to hurt me. As soon as I see that person's name or sig line I close that thread.

I also make a point of seeing who the really good well thought out replies are from - Those are the people I respect and want to watch out for to read more from so I always want to read their posts and not skim if I notice their name or picture (if they have one). I really respect most people here and try to read as many threads as I can cope with, even though I don't comment on a lot of them.

I usually do, though that plays a minimal role in my decision whether or not to post in a thread.

Topic, bc. I know which general areas interest me-it's way too hard to keep track of the thousands of individual members here.

The rare exceptions are those (very few and far between) whom I've formed either positive or negative impressions of.
