What kinds of sounds or situations where sounds occur piss you off?

I really cannot stand certain commercials with people who talk in a way I find annoying. I really hate a lot of car insurance commercials. What is really annoying with me is I feel the need to instantly copy them and repeat what they say even though I hate it.

I cannot stand smoke detectors which need new batteries and some idiot is too freaking lazy to replace it. This happens in this apartment complex I live in when I am outside trying to enjoy the sounds of birds and feel peace. Some people have smoke detectors beeping and I can hear it softly in the distance. Knowing it is there gives me anxiety and I anticipate it and I have to somehow try to ignore it because it never goes away.

I have a REALLY hard time sleeping if some people are talking outside or a neighbor is hitting the wall which happened a lot in the past. Sounds can ruin my sleep so bad. Often I had to take some kind of sleeping pill, usually Ibprofin with sleeping medicine.

I hate it when people play acoustic guitars and sing outside in places like an apartment complex or some place you wouldnt assume would have someone doing that. if it is a fair or some market I do not mind it or care because it is expected. But if it is in a dorm room or outside my apartment it ticks me off.
I also hate bass music or hip hop music by neighbors who play huge heavy bass. Even if it is quiet I cant still feel it and hear it and I cannot read anything, think clearly, or sleep well if I want to take a nap.

I hate cell phone talkers who talk outside super loud instead of quietly at a normal volume. I never talk that loud.

I can detect small sounds often that other people d not notice until I point it out. It frustrates me so much. reading is so tough. I dont know how I made it through college.

I hate most stores stupid music playing. I wish restaurants and stores did not play any music period and we could just eat without noise.

I usually turn on a fan when I sleep to cover up other sounds.

Oh and for the record, unrelated to sounds I CANNOT STAND SMOKERS!! I hate it when they come outside an smoke and I smell their smoke. I hate it so much. It smells so awful an I cannot breathe well. The would would be a better place without smokers.

Styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam, pencils on rough paper, and yeah, the kind of pop music they play in stores. Any group of people talking at once.

Loud motorcycles piss me off to no end. When motorcyclists put the pedal to the metal, that's the worst. That sound makes me feel that I'm going to jump out of my skin.

Loud motorcycles don't piss me off. Though, they do scare the sh*t out of me. Especially when they pass me on the freeway.

Yeah, motorcycles and loud cars scare me.
But I tolerate classic car shows to say hi to the friendly, chubby car owners - awww ^_^

Also I don't like truck honks, thunder, and popping sounds :(
And high pitched anything, especially that "new email" tone on many iPhones :(

My wife's sister has an inexplicable need to talk so loud that you can hear her love the phone when you talk to somebody else. She's pretty much the first thing you see, when you look up the word "ghetto" and (I promised I wouldn't use this word wrong again) "ratchet". Each time, I just wanted to shout "STFU already. You do not need to be that loud! People can hear your dumb ass fine!" I swear my wife is constantly questioning why I don't want to move in with her, and she act as if ignoring the loud vocals of this bipolar character is just that easy.

I don't live with her family, and I thank God because any other place is more peaceful than there.

Well, this is when being hearing impaired is a bonus because not many noises annoy me. It's only the really deep, bass sounds like large, barking dogs, thumpy-thump music or surround sound. I tend to tune out higher-pitched noises or I just can't hear them.
The most annoying sound I've heard recently was a teenage girl whose voice was so loud and bellowing, I had to cross the street and then run to get away from it - or I swear my ears would have exploded.
The most persistent annoying sound for me is my own tinnitus. There's no running away from that.

I hate the noise from cars, buses, trucks etc, mostly the engine noise but also the running noise as well. Loud motorbikes, particularly the ones that are purposely made noisy, are worse. Also like many people, I hate the vacuum cleaner noise, too. I find those noises really distressing.

Music in general stresses me out, too. I hate having the radio, TV, etc on, because I find them distracting/overwhelming. If I listen to music, I have to be listening to it without doing anything else. I absolutely agree with the OP about the music in restaurants.

I also find the noise of children screaming distressing. Also high-pitched loud laughter from anyone. Or even just loud voices. They hurt my eardrums.

And yes, the smoke detector noise indicating a low battery is annoying although it's not really loud. I guess that's how it makes you want to replace the battery.

And any unexpected noise. For example, in a quiet library a coin dispensing machine suddenly but briefly dispensing 10 coins irritates me pretty badly.

I think I have more but can't think of them now.

I absolutely agree with this.

Barking dogs - especially large dogs. ARRRF!! WOOF!! ! I wish I had the capability to tune out those annoying sounds.
Loud motorcycles. Why do these people try and damage their hearing?
Boomy bass while people are driving in a car. If I can hear it outside your car, it's too loud. And I'll just be waiting for you to turn 55 or 60 and take a hearing test that ultimately fails.
Fire alarms are definitely another one.
Rap music. Doesn't matter if it's Lil Wayne or Snoop Dogg, I'd rather jump off a 20 foot cliff than be forced to listen to an hour of that crap.
Screaming children, I agree with jk1. Especially in a supposedly-quiet environment, like a public library. If your child is screaming, he/she does not belong in the library.
I once heard a family of 3 or 4 kids at the computer stations being so loud I could hear them from the other side of the library. Not OK.

Loud laughing and coughing are the worst for me, or any human noise. I also hate the TV and the phone when it's making a call.

Also women annoy me more than men in their noises.

Crunching potato chips, crinkling paper bags, people chewing with their mouth open. I get a strong irrational feeling that I have to leave the room immediately or something bad will happen. If I can't escape it I usually wind up putting my hands over my ears involuntarily.

Car alarms
Leaf blowers, lawn mowers, weed whackers etc.
Someone whistling a tune loudly.
Shoes/boots that make a loud clomping sound.
Someone nattering away on their phone.

-Motorcycles
-People mouth-breathing in earshot
-Dripping faucets, especially when I have already tried to make it stop and it wont.
-When I find the pattern of a loop on my noise maker
-Hearing the bass in someone's music through a wall when I want silence
-Incessant barking, especially beagles and tiny dogs
