Hi I went for a a test a few weeks ago and it went okay and the doctor and the says i do not have it

But he did says i have some symptoms of it
including ,
trouble making friends
trouble with personal space
trouble with changes
and trouble expressing feelings
Today I had a bad day ,first my counselor at is leaving at my school
Then a student I hang out with ,only wants to only be friendly with me ,instead of a friendship ,I was told this first thing in the morning so I had a meltdown ,and it took me about 2 hours to calm down
the doctor says i have mild intellectual disability with mild depression
is this like autism ?

To me that sounds like an autism spectrum disorder, not really an intellectual disability at all. I think a second opinion might be good.
What sort of tests did you do? Hmm do you have problems learning things or reading or maths?

Sometimes the symptoms of autism can appear like an intellectual disability such as if you have a meltdown or stomping or obsessive behaviour but it's not the same thing.

Delayed in everything does sound more like an intellectual disability. Autism is more like delays in specific areas. But I'm not expert so don't quote me.

I got a diagnosis from a very experienced psychologist. It can be very difficult to get to see someone like that. I don't think there's anything very clear-cut about a diagnosis though, we're all different and individual people. I would just browse around here and see if you feel at home on WP.

If your doctor wasn't an expert in autism, I'd see if you can try to find someone who is; a lot of times, GPs don't have enough knowledge of autism to make an effective diagnosis. Your traits do sound autistic, especially coupled with mild ID.

I think you either have autism or a similar developmental disability. The school I go to has a lot of kids with autism, but there are also kids with other similar disorders, like one kid I know that has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Many of them have intellectual disabilities too. So I'd say you'd fit right in with us.

No. Nobody has all traits. There are many varieties, mixes of conditions and severites.

Have you, btw. been tested for cognitive delays, verbal delays, social delays?

You say, that you are late in everything. Were you a late speaker, late motor development or are your delays academic.

No one on this site will be able to tell you if you have Autism. It is diagnosed by behavior, comprehension, and development. They don't know how much of your information is correct nor do you. Its best to go see a psychologist to get a proper evaluation done. Someone who is emo in school could have all of those symptoms but have nothing to do with Autism. Autism is a lot more complex as a disorder. What type of doctor did you see?

No, you don't. But you do need a certain number of them.

What do you want out of a diagnosis? To help form your sense of self? To access accommodations? Something else?

Do you have sensory difficulties?

Yes, what? It is a little difficult to know, what you are answering yes to. Please tell. It will make communication easier- generally speaking.....but just like Doom1991 says: Nobody in here can dx you. If you need it, you have to se a professional.
