A lot of people on WP seem to be asexual, more so it seems than in a random cross sections of NT's. I wonder why this is? Also has anyone been asexual and then become interested in sex again, or vice-versa? Are there any asexual's in romantic relationships which are going well, here on WP?

Yes, for quite a long time I did believe that I was asexual. This was because I hadn't discovered my own sexual orientation.

Now I have, I am definitely not asexual.

What's your real orientation? Right now I feel like I'm grey asexual. That means I only feel real sexual attraction once or twice a year.

I like D/s relationships. Before I had discovered this about myself I had zero interest whatsoever in sexual relationships.

My sex drive comes and goes so I have described myself as being close to asexual but maybe because I hadn't found anyone I was sexually attracted to or found a way to enjoy sex. Plus I was a late bloomer.

I suppose you could say I was a late bloomer as well even though I did have my daughter at 19, I didn't find enjoyment in sex at all until earlier on this year.

I think when I was younger I perhaps thought that having a boyfriend and having sex was what people did.

Not much thought went into it really.

I haven't found any sexual interest yet so I assume I'm asexual.

I'm asexual. Was married 13 years, and it was the main reason why it didn't work out. :?

There are many men like me who face constant rejection from women. While I cannot speak for others, I am asexual by circumstance, not choice.

I'm asexual but not aromantic.

I still don't understand what 'turn on' really means.

Its seems sometimes its the case, people assume they are asexual, until they discover sexual attraction or pleasure.

My wife thinks I am either asexual or closet gay. I actually prefer touching myself over having a boring sex.

I've always had a pretty strong sex drive (although at age 62 it has weakened a bit, but hasn't gone away). I've pretty much had a sexual partner in my life since my mid-20s. I was capable of multiple orgasms a night into my mid 50s.

But all things must pass---or, at least slow down.

I am asexual, which has pretty much precluded any type of romantic relationship.

I've been pretty conflicted when it comes to my sexual identity for quite awhile. I have a libido and I like the fantasy of sex, but I don't really have any sexual attraction towards people IRL. Also, I've found myself in sexual situations before and I really have trouble with it because of sensory issues. I just feel like I'm perfectly capable of fulfilling any and all of my sexual needs by myself.

I don't know where that leaves me. I've been trying to put myself out there more with guys, but yeah I'm finding that I'm just really not interested when truly presented with it.

I thought people only had sex to have kids so I thought teens were having sex to have them.
