just curious, I know obsessions sometimes change as you get older but at what age did you first begin to become "obssessed" with whatever. This just fascinates me about my son. His #1 major obsession is still dinosaurs which we have been stuck on since 3 (technically 2 if you count Barney which we try very hard to forget about). And yes I know all boys like dinosaurs but I can promise you--it is an obsession!

I was obessed with the Lone Ranger at below the age of Kindergarden. And alittle after
that with Legos till the age of 13:

Quote:
The Lone Rangers Creed

"I believe that to have a friend,
a man must be one.

That all men are created equal
and that everyone has within himself
the power to make this a better world.

That God put the firewood there
but that every man
must gather and light it himself.

In being prepared
physically, mentally, and morally
to fight when necessary
for that which is right.

That a man should make the most
of what equipment he has.

That 'This government,
of the people, by the people
and for the people'
shall live always.

That men should live by
the rule of what is best
for the greatest number.

That sooner or later...
somewhere...somehow...
we must settle with the world
and make payment for what we have taken.

That all things change but truth,
and that truth alone, lives on forever.

In my Creator, my country, my fellow man."

The Lone Ranger

My earliest memory cuts out at the age of 2 and I was obsessed with cars and shoes. My mother said was was obsessed with shoes ever since I first learned how to walk on my own at around 17 months of age. There is a pretty obvious connection with shoes and walking.
I was still obsessed with cars for all of my growing like and shoes will always be my favorite article of clothing.

I was told that I got obsessed with science and astronomy, in particular, when I was 4 years old. I remember when I first went to school, I was disappointed that there were no equations on the board. Instead I had to watch my teacher play with a teddy bear.

I also stopped eating vegetables at the same time, previously I didn't mind what I ate.

Thank you! I watch Charlie and Lola nearly everyday! I actually have a fansite if you want to check it out. It needs a bit of an update, but I'll get on that tonight! Here's the link:

I had an obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine when probably about 3, then the next obsession (one I have now) about cars came when I was 13.

I've had obsessions as long as I can remember, certainly before I started school at 5.

The nature of them changed over time - most of mine tend to be pop-culture things like TV shows, books, bands - and they grew up with me. (Having said that, my Marx Brothers obsession started when I was 11, but I didn't get into The Goodies in a big way til my 20s.)

Really? That was my obsession when I was 11-13.

End of reply.

I've had obsessions young as two. I was fixated on a Disney song "Heigh Ho" and watched the sing along tape all the time. I probably wore it out because when we moved to Washington, I wanted to watch the tape and my mother kept saying "There is no Heigh Ho,” but I never understood it because I was only three then and we always had the tape and she finally bought a new one after I kept wanting to watch it. I used to sing it all the time too but only the Heigh Ho part.

Yep! And I had it again when I was eight. My favorite one was Lucky. And in the series, when that came out in '97, I liked both Lucky and Cadpig. I think they had done some video re-release thing in 1992. Otherwise there's no way I would've known about it as a three-year-old!

They did release it in 1992. I can remember my brother getting it for Easter and I remember my teacher renting it when it first came to video. But the movie was released in theaters in 91. I can remember seeing it there when I was five or six. It was in the summer and my birthday falls in the summer too so it's hard to know. I was obsessed with the live action movie.

Oh! Thanks for clearing that up for me! :) I remember the live-action one very well. I believe that was 1997 if I'm not mistaking. I didn't like the sequel to it though. I saw about ten minutes and left the room. I did see the first live-action one in theaters, though, with my dad. But the original one will always be my favorite!
