Does anyone else have this or know what it is?
I never really found out what it meant but they said it had something to do with my lack of empathy and organisation. :?

Um I think this is something that I'm currently looking into. Various terms 'executive frontal problems' 'executive dysfunction' to do with AS and ADD. It basically means I'm slow and very disorganised.

yeah, studies show that most people with AS lack certain types of brain activities in specific areas of the frontal lobe of the brain.

As I understand it, the executive system is basically the idea of coordinating multiple tasks. When they speak of AS people having trouble following certain directions, and having a reluctance to change because of it, they apparanty tie it to this.

Some have said it relates to the ability to act on unexpected events, and go back to what you were doing. That can slow you down as you may have to start over more frequently. And that CAN lead to being disorganized.

wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_system ) said it is hard to define/discern. I can't truly say if I have it, I guess. If I do, MANY appear to. Such problems are in sitcoms and movies! I think most of my executive problems have more to do with memory, than structure. When my memory improved, things DID get a lot better.

Yeah I have issues with executive dysfunction likely all because of my AS and ADHD.

Executive function problems, along with hyperfocus, are traits shared with ADHD. Problems with executive functioning make it difficult to multi-task and creates repetitive behavior.

Okay, a "Me, too!" post, but that is probably my MAJOR life problem at the moment.

I think I have a wider cognitive dysfunction though. Some parts don't fit in with executive function.

You guys and gals seem AWFULLY sure you have this! How has it affected YOU? I'm just curious because I see a problem I have, and I watch for evidence of it in others! 80% of the time, it seems THEY have the problems too.

I was just curious, as it is kind of hard to judge, etc... Though I am not perfect here, I don't think I am really lacking either. I wanted to know how close we were to one another as a group. Besides, I'm always open to finding a new strength, or exposing a new weakness. I'm hoping that this year will be a good year for me all around.

I don't really know much about it, but according the the psychologist, it's common in people with empathy problems or something. I'm not entirely sure though.
