When I first saw this thread I thought it was about something else.

LOL!

I feel old now, since many many people really don't have any idea who "Deep Throat" was. My first clue to this was when the news article linked to what Watergate was.

I'm amazed Felt came forward. I thought this was going to be one of those things that never gets solved.

The rumors that it couldn't have been him, or at least him alone, are already starting.

I am impressed!

At the time, many people were shocked SHOCKED to hear the Watergate tapes and find out the president (Nixon) had, in private, been swearing.

Now I hear worse on the 6:00 news.

Apparently Nixon also liked everyone in his office to suddenly stop talking randomly for hours as well.

I wonder where the name came from.

"All right. If you don't want your name revealed, you're gonna have to do something for me".

"Deep Throat" was the name of a porn movie (one of the first?) of that era. Why a man would go by an alias like that is beyond me. Maybe because that was another controversial subject at the time. Ermm....Just some thoughts. :D

Now you're dating yourself. In the end, didn't his secretary, a highly trained woman with years of experience, *admit* she had accidently erased those times? Oh dear! What a klutz.

Actually, I was born almost a decade after the break-in. I'm familiar with it because it stands for one of the most egregarious and heavy handed attempts at a large-scale coverup.
