I read that a few years ago, but I didn't know one of the kids was autistic.

Well its not stated. But it seems obvious to me that Charles Wallace and Meg are no-brainers on the aspie scale. That's the fun of books. We can read into them what we want to.

A Wrinkle In Time is awesome. Charles Wallace, Meg, and Calvin are all outsiders at the very least. As for Curious Incident of the Dog In The Nighttime, I loved the book and absolutely hated the heartbreaking ending.

Hardly anyone seems to mention that Mark Haddon did not actually get to know any real autistic people. His character in the curious incident is based upon stereotypes and his own imagination but people are using it to describe real autistic people. It's a pretty good story but his character is fictional

Not so much a teen book but the girl with the dragon tattoo series features lisbeth salander who is suspected to have aspergers (only mentioned in the last book by Steig Laarson) also that is who my display photo is based upon.

House Rules is very good. It's about a boy with Asperger's (although I would argue that he has PDD-NOS) but I feel that it's overall an accurate portrayal of autism. Plus, it switches POVs so you get to see not only how autism affects the individual, but how it affects the parents and siblings as well.

Anything but typical, By, Nora Raleigh Baskin. Sounds like the character is on wrong planet. It's in my schools teen library, I don't think it is teen. Reminds me of EzraS

I don't see where you're going with this.
