Yes, but it's worse at night. I have trouble driving at night because it's hard for me to focus on the road with all the bright lights.

Try KD's Original biker shades for night driving in yellow or light green lenses. You can get them for $8-10 on Ebay or Amazon etc.

Yes very much. It's pretty common for people on the spectrum.

Absolutely. I moved to Seattle for the over-cast skies. I find that wearing baseball caps helps, as well as sunglasses.

Me too. On summer days it's very bright and I have to wear sunglasses. On really hot days the world looks like a very brightly lit wasteland. The light makes everything look harsh, it reveals the flaws. The grasses is brown. There's no one around because it's too hot out. It feels like I'm the last man alive in a horrible post-apocalyptic world.

I prefer the night or rainy days or best of all rainy nights. The darkness makes light shine brighter. On rainy days the world is shiny and beautiful. On rainy nights all the lights are reflected on the road. I like rain but I have the misfortune to live in the driest state in the driest inhabited continent.

Yes. I was out today and the light was painful, even though it was overcast.
Sunglasses are your friend.

Hats and dark glasses all the way.

Hats and glasses make it hard for me to wear my noise cancelling headphones. Glasses break the seal around the ear and they won't fit over a hat. I have to choose between dealing with my sensitivity to light or my sensitivity to sound.

Yes. I think I'm squinting in most pictures taken of me on a sunny day. I need to invest in new prescription sunglasses for the spring/ summer as well as work out how I'm going to dress in order to stay cool but covered. I'm overweight and vey insecure but dislike the heat.

Tend to find it hard not to squint if it's sunny. May sound funny, but sometimes find it's worse with the winter glare.

I usually squint a lot on bright days. My eyelids will stay nearly closed. I'm not sure that is anything about being particularly sensitive to light.

By the way, it is appalling that we never see warnings about the effects of bright sunlight on the eyes. They say that if everyone wore sun glasses when outside in the daytime all their lives, the incidence of eye problems when elderly would be substantially less, including that of glaucoma.

I hate it when someone is close behind me at night because of their headlights. I usually either slow down to let them pass or speed up to get further ahead of them.

A few years ago, I sped up because of the car behind me and he sped up. I sped up some more and he sped up. Pretty soon, we were running about 85 on a 70 mph highway. That's when he turned his red and blue lights on and pulled me over. It turned out to be a deputy sheriff. He was pretty nice, though, and didn't write a ticket.

In general, though, i tend to drive fairly slow. The other night I was coming back to town from the grocery store shortly after dark and I noticed someone coming up fast behind but then they slowed down to my speed and stayed there the rest of the way to town. Slowing down didn't help because they slowed down, too. Turned out to be either the local sheriff or one of his deputies. He didn't pull me over, but my brother asked me why I got pulled over. It turned out that he heard them call in my license plate on the scanner. Because I was driving about 55 in a 75, the officer undoubtedly thought I was drunk.

In general, we don't have a lot of problem with bright lights on the highway around here. One recent night, I drove 40 mph on a 35 mile drive and never saw another vehicle the entire time. Much of the time at night, I see maybe 1 or 2 vehicles in that distance. Even in the daytime driving 55 to 60 on that particular route, there may be only 1 or 2 vehicles pass me.

On the other hand, in town there is still the issue of so many cars with their headlights on.

I've read that in London you drive with your parking lights on at night when there are adequate street lights. I don't know how true that might be, though.

I have the same problem with sunlight, I wear sunglasses, I need sunglasses when I take out my trash. Lights can hurt too, my living room light can be too much.

Yes me too. I have to wear sun glasses on overcast days sometimes because it can still be quite bright.
