I oftentimes regret not "settling" because honestly, there are options in this country and being too
"male" will leave you traumatized and childless.

Tells a lot about you.
- living with parents but unhappy about that
- possibly nice looking
- wants children and a life indepent of their parents
- regret not "settling"
- thinks autistic traits as being unemotional and without empathy are a "male" thing

You aren't as wrong but course your own experiences don't apply to the lifes of all others here.
How about becomming a bit more positive?
What's your age now? To late for having children or just becomming aware that it may be time for that?

A lot of aspie women have been accused of being "too male".

do you want a 'bad boy' or an exciting charismatic attractive guy? you can 'settle' and be happy, but if you think of it as 'settling', this is not what you wanted. it can still have it's benefits though.

The OP makes some valid points.

I have become convinced the idea of 'True Love' is a Western cultural phenomenon not shared with the rest of the world. In many cases, it sets a standard that many, especially including those on the spectrum, cannot meet, leading to a life spent alone.

A desire for children or a desire for regular sexual gratification can be reason enough for two people to form a liaison. They should not feel ashamed by the suggestion that such a liaison was formed for "convenience".

I tried to find someone in my thirties. I had a part-time job that was working out, and I hoped to meet someone nice. I would have had kids. But I never met that someone. So I tried working full-time and it backfired.
I'm 45 and I think I'm too old to conceive. Plus, I'm not in a relationship. I've tried dating online over the past few years but I've had no luck. I know that divorce is difficult for people.

Did you meet many people but it didn't turn out?

Many people can conceive at 45.
