I just call these human sayings, because I've heard people on this site use these too, in fact overuse them, especially "It is what it is". That gets said a lot here and it's frustrating.
"Ignore them" is another annoying piece of advice that I often get. Due to ADHD I find ignoring extremely hard to do. I used to ignore bullies at high school but unknowingly the resentment just built up inside me and has made me become a self-conscious, socially anxious adult with zero tolerance for such inappropriateness aimed directly at me.
Also ignoring upsetting posts on internet sites is hard too. By ignoring, the abuser might think you haven't seen it, or might just abuse you further for not standing up for yourself. Bullies offline are notorious for doing that. Have I ever told you the story of the girl who ignored bullies and they just didn't stop until they actually got to her? It went on for a year or so, and when the bullies got frustrated because she wasn't reacting or showing any signs of being upset, they started to stalk her and then they set fire to her house.
Silly playground teasing is easy to ignore and they usually get tired of it and leave you alone. Real bullying is much harder to deal with, and by ignoring them can lead to horrific results.
