Hello everyone,

I have been struggling to find socks for myself that are not too tight. My shoe size is US Men's 10-11 which is about average so it should be easy for me to find socks, right? WRONG!! ! I have tried just about every men's crew style sock at my local Walmart as well as some other stores and they are all too small for my feet even though they all state size 10-13. I don't understand why clothing companies are making undersized uncomfortable socks that are full of elastic. Do they want to cut off circulation to my feet?

So, if anyone has suggestions for where I can find socks that won't squeeze my feet to death I would greatly appreciate it. And will pay top dollar for said socks!

Thanks,

Canadian Freedom Lover

I don't wear socks.
I only own one pair that's the fuzzy kind like slippers, and I don't even wear those.

TLDR: No socks are aspie-friendly
Also, Imagine having to wear pantyhose?

I'm a 12 in most shoes.
I mostly wear the Walmart dress crew socks that are sized 10-13.

Pantyhose are also called nylons or stockings.

My son and my partner both have big feet, size 12 shoes.

They hate Walmart socks, even the XL ones.
They're never big enough, and they go natty and crunchy.

They mostly shop at Moore's or HBC.

I get lines around my skin where the elastic goes and then pains in legs with some socks.

How do you find the fit?

They fit fine, although sometimes the elastic at the top is a bit too tight. That might mostly be a matter of me being fat, rather than an issue with the socks.

Don't you find they shrink a crazy amount in the dryer and they get all hard and bumpy?

I can't say I've noticed either issue. The only real issue I've noticed is that they can wear out pretty quickly depending on what you're doing.

Those are the ones I mean.

The only thing I've had come out melted-ish (hard & bumpy) of a dryer was one on high heat at a laundromat. I wash all the cotton socks & underwear with a hot bleach water soak first, then they are dumped into a home dryer on high heat. Are you speaking of polyester & nylon socks? Those would go thru with the regular clothes (cold wash & dried on medium).

I'd also disagree that socks aren't aspie friendly, since I nearly always wear them with shoes & even at home in slippers. I prefer them tight, a bit in width but def in length.

One could always learn how to knit custom socks. They'll be thicker than store bought socks, but they're customizable (& often still machine wash- & dry-able). I've knit socks a few times, but I prefer store bought cotton crew.
