Just had a thouught are Aspies closed minded. What does everyone think

I'm not sure I don't whether I have an Open or Closed mind.

Open minded, and I refuse to listen to anyone that might say otherwise.

No matter what anyone says (NT or not), everyone's closed-minded to a point.

It's "known" that those with autism and AS have trouble viewing others' points as our minds are usually concluded. For example, whilst my personality is quite unbiased and non-judgmental; I won't allow people to "force" me to do things, things that are possibly beneficial to me as well (read: objectively), due to my "narrow-mindedness" (A. (3) (a) in the DSM-IV-TR under autistic disorder; it's there for AS as well).

I am open minded 99% of the time.

I think we are open-minded because we are very nice!

We probably APPEAR closed-minded because we're open-minded, but guarded... and need to be convinced your opinion/orders are right before accepting them.

So we think we're open-minded because we'll accept good ideas, THEY think we're closed off because they have to "explain everything" before we'll start doing what they say. I ran into this at my last job... the woman was a self-proclaimed B*tch and HATED that I questioned or confirmed every order she gave - she eventually pushed me out of the job for it. She'll make a fine dictator someday.

I wouldn't say we're close-minded... Just very grounded in our beliefs.

I don't think that's why we have trouble seeing others' points of view. We have trouble understanding their positions because they're so often based on unspoken assumptions or rely upon inferrences about others' behaviour, and we don't do those things.

I think I've very open-minded, but only to reasoned positions. Irrational positions aren't comprehensible (to anyone), so I pay them no heed.

Some of the most closed minded people I've met are people who confuse close mindedness with alternative believes but thinks those that are not into it are some how closed minded by virtue of this.

Open mindedness is the ability to listen to someone point of view question your stance regularly. But if you just do what someone else says you are more impressionable than open minded.

Everyone one is closed minded to an extent. Some things I avoid not because I disagree with them, but because I don’t want to focus on those things.

Closed mindedness closely relates to absolutism and open mindedness closely relates to relativism

Someone who cannot question their own beliefs is closed minded.

I have to be closed minded on a windy day, otherwise the whistling annoys me.

I'm 50/50 when it comes to open and close mindedness.

I think we're open-minded in some ways but inadvertently closed-minded in others.
I mean we're not always open and alert to the possibility that other people can without warning completely change their opinions or contradict themselves ! I also think we could sometimes do
with being more open to our own capabilities,whether it's our current limitations or potential to improve.I know that in the past I've caused problems for myself by closing my mind to the
fact that I needed some help in certain situations.
