Post interesting facts that you think most other people wouldn't know about your country.

Here in Australia, Burger King is called Hungry Jack's for some reason (except at the airports I believe). And heres the logo:

We are the only "free market" country in the world were Coca-Cola isnt the number one selling fizzy soft drink. A homemade drink called Irn-Bru is.

Not only can we boast Irn-Bru, but Robert Burns, John Logie Beard, Alexander Graham Bell, The Highlands north of The Great Glen were once part of Continental North America, that Fleming chappie who stumbled across penicillin, Arthur Conan Doyles inspiration, Malt Whisky and our politicians run the country ie UK( to the eternal shame of some of us). I have to admit Irn-Bru is head and shoulders above the others though. Oh and the light ales that were once drank here were the main inspiration for what modern Americans now call beer.

The United States:

We were the first free country in the history of the world. Nobody before us had even thought of the idea of rebelling against their leaders. We invented money. Jesus was an American, but he couldn't get over here because Columbus (another American) hadn't discovered America yet. We won both world wars simply because we thought it would be a fun thing to do. We liberated Britain and France from Germany, and blew up Hitler in his bunker. We killed Kennedy because he knew about the aliens in Area 51. If it wasn't for us, the world would have been blown up by the Soviets. Ronald Reagan personally stopped the apocalypse by telling G-d to sit down and shut up. Because we're so great, we're going to gradually conquer the rest of the world. Except for Canada and Mexico, because we don't want those people to be Americans.

Actually, there isn't anything that is very interesting about the United States that isn't already common knowledge.

I live in the only industrillized first world nation that permits the death penalty.

I live in the industrillized first world nation with the lowest taxation rate of any other first world nation.

There is only one industrialized nation that has the death penalty (think Texas, think the President).

Yes, I was joking. Notice that the last line was "Actually, anything interesting is already common knowledge" Don't get me wrong, I like my country. I just think that a lot of people here have some pretty warped ideas.
