Does your brain go faster than your mouth/hands?

Often times, I will be engaged in a conversation, when all of a sudden I will forget what I'm talking about mid-sentence. (This is easier to hide on an internet forum because the post doesn't appear until you hit "submit") I personally think that this happens because my brain thinks about ideas so quickly, that by the time the words are coming out of my mouth, I'm already three ideas ahead of what I'm talking about. If I get far enough ahead, I forget what I was going to say now.

Anyone else experience this?

Yes. Sometimes I speak well, other times I sound really dumb.

Yes. This affects both my speech and my handwriting - I simply can't slow my brain down to the speed of my penmanship, so I rush.

The same. I regret that people are unable to communicate telepathically because I always have a feeling that words are somehow crippled, insufficient to express my thought as they really look.

Yeah, definitely. I have managed to cover it up somewhat in my speech by slowing things down a bit and using a lot of fillers or repeating what I've just said in a different way to reinforce it, until I remember what I was going to say (this is useful if I'm doing a presentation, but seems a bit weird in 'normal' conversations).

I can't sort out my writing though - I'm constantly thinking way ahead of myself when I'm writing, and sometimes I find that because I've been thinking about a particular word I'm going to write a bit later, I've actually half-written one word and merged it with the word I was thinking about. My handwriting is a terrible mess.

To answer your question (the title), I must say "Oh heck yes". I think way too many things at once, that's for sure. That's always been a problem with me. At the least, I can sort of claim that up to five ideas or concerns will pop into my mind at once. At the same time, I have to be figureing out what to say, and say it right then while all these ideas are interfering my speach process.

In writing, my brain doesn't do this as much, but I often get to saying things that look like something completly different than what I'm trying to get people understand. That's obvious enough. 'sigh' Don't know how to fix that problem yet, but I'm working on it mentaly. I feel that Aspergers is causeing these issues with me. Yep, I sure do.

(And that is one reason I really, really don't apreciate fighting)

Yes, all the time. Then again, sometimes I can't even get full words to come out of my mouth and I sound ridiculous and I have to just stop trying to talk for awhile. My brain is always 'on' and it is definitely going faster than my mouth.
