Every year I have this delusion that i'm going to have a brilliant christmas and new year, and especially new year, I think to myself i'd love to be dancing somewhere to some great music maybe some food, alcohol that kind of thing in a big place where I can feel the buzz of it.

But when it comes down to it the circles of friends that I would be welcome to be with I end not wanting to be with them because I can't relate to the group as a whole and it's kind of depressing.

So I laugh in the end and sit at home with one of my favourite movies and eat takeaway food and know that it's just another night like any other...

:(

anybody do the same? there should be yearly aspie new years eve parties or would they just not work?

Yeah, I'll be watching a DVD, checking out forums, petting the cat, maybe some food if I remember to eat.

We stay home and ring in the New Year with family and friends. New Year's Day is my mom's birthday.

I'll probably be visiting WP and the Siamese site too.

It's just another day for me, I guess.

Best ever was on my own with a tv rented specially for the holidays when holiday tv was still brilliant, stuffed with good films, all on my own, and happily so, cos everyone had gone home for hols, London 1986/7.
Some ghastly parties, and efforts at the new year "thing", but yes, i agree, it's generally just another day for me.

Yeah, I usually stay in with my mom and sister and watch a countdown on TV. Actually, last year I was babysitting on New Year's. This year I want to go out and do something for a change, but parties are just not my thing...

Anyway, I definitely relate! We should have a WP party... :)

Oh, that's awesome! I was never brave enough to go on the slides, but now I wish I had. Too late. :( LOL

I'd be sitting at home, listening to music, watching movies ans surfing the net. Nothing special. Maybe our cousins will pay us a visit.

Depends.

This year, I know that my sis is spending new years with her cousin, me, I'm not sure. But somehow I think that I'll be having fun.

This year, I haven't decided yet. Debating on either staying with my mother, or staying at home alone that night.

New Years Eve there's always a massive party in the center of Gyor so we head there. Lots of hot sausages and cinamon cake and then the place goes crazy when the count reaches zero.

On the same subject, am I the only one who worked millenium eve? My boss offered me massive amounts of cash if I would work on New Years Eve 1999 so I took the money and watched it all on TV. Everyone was concerned about the Millenium Bug but when the clocks hit zero nothing happened.

I would have done that too. I'm doing a few bank holidays, hopefully inc. new years day, for double time. Then I'm going to use the money and my days in lieu to have a great time when everythings less pressurised than new year.

I never really do much for New Years, as usually at least 1 or 2 of my friends are working and it will probably be the same this year with one of my friends working at a casino, and another is a security guard at a hospital, they'll likely be working New Years EVe, and with me working retail I'll probably not stay up late as they'll likely make me work New Years Day.

Two new years in particular I remember were 2001, the year I got a Gamecube for Christmas and none of my friends were working, senior year in high school for them, we stayed up all night playing Super Smash Bros. Melee for about 11 hours straight. Another year, a couple years later we didn't really have anything to do and we ended up in a Ralph's parking lot being stupid with the shopping carts, including barricading the nearby Carl's Jr drive-thru, we really were bored that year.

I will be either:

Going to a friend's house with my group of best mates and drinking and probably playing cranium, whilst getting drunker and sillier... :D

Or

Going to a huge house party in London that I really really really really REALLY don't want to go to but suspect I will be because that's where the boyfriend and our mates are going. So a night of total awkwardness and pressure. :(
