Just another day or a special time of the year?

I don't mind a day of rest myself but I hate the weeks of festive cheer leading up to it, the constant music, the same twenty tunes, over and over again, the requiremnet to be jolly, buy presents and be happy when given something you don't need or want.

I like Christmas, my fav holiday. I wouldn't want it everyday, as I would grow tired of it. But hey, once a year is cool. I like the music, the atmosphere, the decorations, all of it. I like the whole season. The secular and the religous aspects.

Is December over yet?

This is the one time of year I have to fake it, I have to pretend to be NT for days on end just to get by. I get overwhelmed by the crowds and overstimulated by the lights and music. I have to spend 10 solid hours in the company of my extended family making nice platitudes about things I dont care about. We have 6 foot snow banks so far this year so I bet there will be a lot of inane chatter about the weather. Bah humbug. If I didnt have a kid I would spend Christmas somewhere they have never heard of it. As it is the only good thing about it is seeing her open her presents. This year I'm in line for the bestest mother ever award.

I used to like Christmas, it used to be more of a family thing rather than a spiritual or religious holiday, buy now it's pretty much an ordinary day.

Just another day.

I know what you mean about the same twenty tunes over and over.

But on the plus side, it gives me an excuse to try out some of the new smilies:

I spend my Christmases on my own, and maybe go for a walk. I quite like the peace and quiet.

There are too many expectations about what Christmas should be like and it ruins the season.

I'm Jewish. So yeah I like it. Going to the theatre with noone else there, eating Chinese food, I love it.

I enjoy the holidays, I get some good presents and get to spend time with the family and not work.

I'm not a Christian so I don't celebrate Christmas. I therefore use this time as a good excuse to celebrate the end of one year and the start of a new one, it's just a coincidence that the celebrations start on December 25th 8)

Each year I get more and more 'bah humbug' about it.

The novelty has definitely worn off and the crude materialism of it makes me want to run away to an isolated island somewhere until Christmas, New Year and the January Sales are a distant memory.

i like Christmas because i get to see family that i don't see often.

i feel awkward about receiving gifts though, since I'm still really just a kid and i have nothing much to give my family.

Good idea.

Am have a big problem with christmas, when it starts due to all the changes with decorations, shop isles etc ,but am eventually get used to it,and then everyone starts taking them down again, try and keep things up as long as possible until parents or staff pulls it down when am out as it's the only way it'll get down.
Am like tinsel a lot and always have it in a cross patern on the ceiling-corner to corner.

Am like the fact dad always gets terrys chocolate orange ball things for christmas as am never think of these at any other time in year.
Am never say no to free computer games or anything else either.

I like Christmas. But I avoid holiday parties, and do all my Christmas shopping online, so for me it's just a nice way to spend time with my family (and they understand what I'm like, so if I get overloaded from too much interaction I can disappear for awhile and no one minds). Plus, presents are always good.
