I was watching WhiteTiger Dream on YouTube. She was doing a nice video about AS being underdiagnosed in women.

During her video she mentions we have a reduced mental age, many AS anyway.

How does one determine what it is? I don't want to label myself or anything I just find it curious. . . .

Chronological age*IQ/100 is roughly the mental age. I say roughly because one wonders how you could interpret a mental age of say 60, but that IS the formula! MA/CA*100=IQ so a ten year old with a mental age of 15 is 15/10*100= 150 IQ 10*150/100=15 MA.

BTW she is WRONG! Most people here said they had mental ages that were 20-30% ABOVE normal! Some even claimed close to 70%! !! !

That's why you'd need to know "mental" vs. "emotional". We've always been told by the doctors, and seen in the books that a good rule of thumb for Aspie emotional development (or maturity) is about 2/3rd's chronological age... which is difficult if your "mental" or intellectual age is so far advanced above your age group. In other words, at 15, a "typical" Aspie might have an intellectual ability (age) of a 20+ year old, but the emotional development of a 10 year old.

So, my mental age is 30 or 31, and my emotional maturity is that of a 13 year old. Seems fitting.

That would make my emotional age about 16. I feel it's much younger though, like 11 or so.

Mental age is the age at which a normal person would have to be to do mental tasks at the same level. There is a mental age, physical age, emotional age, AND the one everyone is familiar with chronological age.

I believe it changes with me.. Depending on the situation.. When I feel good I am able to think and act more maturely but when I feel the opposite I can get very emotionally immature at times.

Multiply your IQ score by your chronological age and divide by 100.

A 10yo with a 150 IQ does about as well with the mental tasks as the average 15yo.

Which means that we are a lot more intelligent than 10 year-olds with 150 IQs, and so we shoudln't be intimidated by these "prodigies" :D.

To be conservative with my IQ (all the professional said is that it is "really high"); I'll say 139 which was taken from the last "full" online test I did (I've had 160 before when given by a teacher for the gifted program); 74 for E-IQ (the online test):

That's,

36 for IQ
19 for emotional

I'm 26 chronologically
