I keep forgetting I'm holding something and my hand just drops it.

Well, it doesn't happen too often, but I feel it happens more than with other people I'm with.

Does anyone else get this/is this common with AS/TS/any other disorder?

I believe it's common.

Heh, it's one of the reasons I feel nervous holding my infant niece. That plus the fact that I have cats and regularly just toss them to them to the ground when I'm tired of holding them or they begin to squirm.

I have problems with determining how much pressure I'm applying with my hands, so I tend to hold things too lightly as I'm afraid of holding them too tightly.

I drop things for this reason.

I don't think I have this problem. I do drop things yes but not for this reason.

I tend to drop things, a lot. I was in the kitchen of my clubhouse, drinking a glass of 7-Up, once. Afterwards, I've dropped the glass onto the floor, and it shattered, all over the place. It took me fifteen minutes, to sweep up. Afterwards, I've told the members, not to tell one of the more strict staff people.

I drop alot of things, but not because I forget I'm holding them...I'm just really clumsy unfortunately.

I don't really drop things once I have a grip on them, but for some reason picking up things (especially small things) can be difficult on occasion. It's like my fingers have to find the perfect form to pick it up and no other.

It does seem to happen sometimes when I get distracted.

I often fiddle with a pen, and I often drop it while spinning it around and it's thrown away at someone. It's embarrassing when that happens, but I still can't bring myself to stop. I get anxious when I'm not doing it... Is that common among aspies?

Me too. So I trained myself to always concentrate when I'm working above people, or if I'm carrying heavy things. If I drop pencils, forks, etc., it's not that big a deal, and people don't really notice.

I was walking a friend's dog the other day. It was on an extendable lead. I forgot I was holding it and let go and I thought it was going to hit him as it reeled itself in 8O  Thanksfully it didn't though - he just looked a bit surprised

for whatever reason I constantly drop mugs and glasses , most of the dishes in our house don't match, not that we ever tried to buy anything matching, so we are constantly replacing mugs, glass cups and wine glasses. I keep threatening to buy everything either as plastic or metal, didn't go over well
