Why do I see nothing but puppy stuffed animals and no cats? Can I blame this on Paris Hilton?

I went to a few stores looking for stuff cat animals and all they had were dogs, parrots, bears, rabbits.

Hmm... I have noticed the same when shopping for plush toys for my little baby girl. She loves our cat, and i wanted a cute cat for her. I did find cats here, but the dogs own like 90% of the market for sure. And i really hate those "dog in purse" plushes :x

I just noticed that the top 5 threads today have a similar ending to the sentence. "ion"

Yeah, it sucks. I did actually find one cat but it was a prissy cat. A white prissy cat! I want a tom cat. I want a black cat. I want a siamese cat. I want a tabby cat.

There is nothing wrong with cats!

So what if they can read your mind and prefer to play with string.

Blah, i hate the type of cats that are all white and pink with little crowns on their heads too :P

Cats are the best! I dont care if they know every move im about to make, or if they constantly lie down on the book im supposed to be reading! They are the best! :D

stuffed as in real animals that have died and have been stuffed,or fake things?

of the real type,am have been in a shop in norwich that had loads of stuffed animals such as foxes, different birds etc,no cats but do know that people do get their cats stuffed.
of the fake type,am have never had trouble finding them, but then have to know where to look.

if are in the uk,try places like catoutofthebag.com [now called the cat gallery but the address still works] they used to have a shop in norwich and whenever sister and her boyfriend came back from staying with his family there, they'd bring am back a catelogue.

antique/specialist soft toy shops are good for cat teddys so have a look for any around,am remember seeing quite a few at the old steiff/collectable shop at the trafford centre, some of them being steiff as well.
steiff and other top brands are the best for cats because they are designed as collectables rather than childrens toys.

as a cat worshipper though,am would say the world is very cattist, there is not enough of them in anything.

That's proberbly because dogs are far more likeable animals.
I could never really understand why anyone could like cats.
They are so distant and don't really listen to any commands.
Unlikely dogs who run towards you when they see you and jump against you.
They are like playfull little kids.

I like cats because they are smart. Unlike dogs they CHOOSE whether or not to follow a command. A cat comes when he/she wants to, not because people tell them too. They have strong personalities and i adore them :) A cat reminds me strongly of myself, ive always been distant myself. I can understand why cats prefer to be alone a lot, cause im that way myself. Maybe thats why i feel so strongly about them, cause they remind me of me. If that makes any sense.

I can relate more to cats. I know cats want to be respected and need their space but that does not mean they don't like affection.

I love all animals, but cats are my favorites. I am especially fond of tabbies and Siamese. Lynx (tabby) points are my favorites because they are a mix of tabby and Siamese.

Very avid cat-lover here, and I noticed that when they do animal shows about domestic animals they're always about dogs, like The Dog Whisperer. I've rarely seen a cat variation on that stuff, and often it's awful stuff when they do.

I am distant and have always had a problem listening to commands.

Probably why I prefer cats I guess, I understand them better.

Personally I prefer dogs, especially the ones Stanley Coren describes as "Self Assured" (mostly terriers, such as Scotties and Westies) since they are cheerfully off doing their own thing, oblivious to social convention, unlike slobbery dogs like Golden Retrievers who need attention all the time.

But I am appalled at the lack of stuffed cats in the market place. Someone needs to do something about this. It's discrimination. (And also a market opportunity.) But if anyone here were to start manufacturing plush cats, would it be too much to ask that they be biodegradable?

(I now have the image in my head of plush cats with long tails that people can swing them by. :P )
