I dropped a pistachio peanut whilst trying to get the very last one out of the packet. The moral of the story? If you want to risk everything for something small, you might loose out. But if you have a hard shell you can recover.

(Twas a clean floor, and pistachios are protected by a NICE shell... YUM).

My GOD MAN! You haven't lived! Pistachio's are peanuts in a semi open hard shell (with two halves). They have this green tinge to them and are salty. YUM YUM

Pistachio's are nature's gift to man-- well, expensive gift to man. They cost so much at the store... :(

A tiny little container can sometimes be up to $5! Heaven at such a price. This is why it is a "treat" and not a "staple".

Yeah I'm all confused...

I like me some peanuts
I like me some pistachios

What the heck is a pistachio peanut?? Is it like some kind of weird mutant hybrid of the two? Or is this just some weird mutant slang from another dimension (Britain)?

Actually, I said that because a pistachio isn't a peanut, nor vice versa. I guess it doesn't really matter because they're not even nuts but they get called that anyway.

I think 666 is referring to peanuts, which are actually legumes. :P
I always thought pistachios were nuts, but I could be wrong...

I guess I should've been more specific. A pistachio can be considered a nut for all practical purposes, but it's not technically a nut because the plant that produces it isn't in the order Fagales.
