Who Taught You To Hate Yourself?

Why should an Aspie want to be cured? Who taught you to hate objectivity, honesty, creativity? (Answer: Those who fear the whistle-blower. The liers, thieves and criminals.)

Modern society, and even our best psychiatrists, judge us as sane or insane simply on the basis of how well we conform to “cultural norms.” The amazing talent of being able to cut through the insanity of one’s own culture is, by definition, insane. My objection is to this basic premise. The premise itself is insane.

How can an objective person hope to develop a “theory of mind” when everyone around you lies with every breath and with every gesture?

I think I learned self hatred where I live now, at the schools I had to go to and from my mother's hideous family. I was a fairly content child until the age of four when my parents divorced. I think life was much better when my father was around, before my mother drove him away with her craziness.

My peers did more so than my parents even... I know I am an adult now and have the power to change it but how do I find that power and what do I do with it? Sorry, feeling a bit low right now.

society. and the inability to love. I mean I can show love but havea loving relationship I'm not saying im giving up hope but I have a child and she is almost 2 and requires love that I cant give. I havent seen her in over 7 months and I guess its this stuff and other things.

The world, school, both primary and secondary was pretty grim, in the end i kinda gave up, and believed the liars . . . at 19 all i want is a less uncompromising world. Its never gonna happen, so until then i try to blend in :)

My dad did with his, mostly uncalled for, yelling. Now he wanders why I beat and cutt myself. :roll: :x I was a very stressed out teen, and what did I get out of it during adult development? I learned plenty about how to act furious, verbaly aggressive and scare people! And trust me, I have..

Well, thinking back on my past, I can't really recall anyone who ever said anything nice about me. All I ever heard was how awful/ugly I was, & that I'd never amount to anything.

My dad with his blatant preference for my younger sister who could do no wrong and me no right. Later on, I did not need extra help as I kept doing it myself when I realized I did not fit with other people.

Different people can cause us to hate yourself. That is like a catalyst. But the person that self loathes is yourself.

Sorry for the gender mix-up.
But no, what I meant was that your reasons for being so angry and resentful towards an NT world are founded in Aspie blindness and unaware of what for NT's, is the instinctual.
If you fitted in just fine, you wouldn't be angry for sure.
