Seriously, I think I must be the most bored on this planet.

I am bored most of the time and in such an intensity that hardly anything manages to breaks through my boredom. I'm a person that needs to be occupied with something, but alas, such is hard to find.

Most thrill and mysteries are a matter of moments until they're solved. I remember boredom to be my most present state of mind since I'm a toddler. Horrible, torturing boredom. All day long.

I live for the new, for riddles, risks, challenges and for plain stupid danger, but it's hard to come by.

Sure, there are a lot of things to try, but most of it will either have you end up in mortal peril or in prison. I'm not mad, I have my priorities and I do not plan to rise my crime rate above 0%. Zero is good, makes me feel special because most normal people have already committed minor crimes.

So what to do?

Go out? I do. It's a momentary release of boredom and often not even that. Find a hobby? I tried hundreds of things in the last 15 years. Go to clubs? Within my limitations of autism, I do that too. They become boring quickly. Find an extreme dangerous, thrilling activity? Like what? Maybe if I were rich.

And then there's the whole matter about finding a job soon... gosh, a job! You got to be kidding me to force me into 1 job for more than 40 years! Or more than a few months for that matter. I see myself going to pieces already.

Am I the only one like this? I'm most curious how other people manage in similar positions as myself. But I have never before met anyone with such an intense, life-long boredom of the world as me.

nah, I'm hardly ever bored. my attention shifts from one thing to another at the speed of light, with no space for boredom.

Get rich! Just joking :D . I think everybody is going through phases with boredom, I have it too. But not all the time. I have one suggestion that helped me a lot. I bought a guitar and started to learn how to play. When I had nothing to do, I picked up the guitar and learned some tricks. I've noticed that most ppl like music, so why don't pick an instrument and see if you can learn some licks from your favorite music? One never know, after a while you may be able to write your own songs?

Gee Sora - sorry to hear that.
I am rarely bored. Boredom is probably the state of being that would terrify me most.

can't you get wonderfully fixated on something and then hyperfocus until you are reduced to a trance like stupor reminiscent of shamanic practice in a tribal culture in South America?

Sora, you should come live here. Seriously, I'm not kidding. This country is the one place in the world where you'll feel anything and everything, good and bad, but NEVER boredom. I was bored back home and Í've been here for 24 years - never had one moment of boredom in all this time.

I tend to get bored very easily aswell. I noticed this since early childhood. The best solution I found was watching t.v (back then cartoons), and playing sports in the yard by myself. As I got older I found boredom a bit more challenging. Computer games worked best, but because I can only own a few at time, after a while they too would become boring.

My attention span isn't the best, but I notice that watching things in particular moving objects get my best attention. Sitting outside and watching the birds fly or the clouds move is best. When things are still, my attention/concentration is broken rather easy.

Near constant boredom is my current dilemma. But it's not because I'm thrill seeker. I find myself watching the clock, craving bedtime and the prospect of sleep. Anyway, I hate it more than anything.

But I guess it's only to be expected when you're a shut-in with no job, no friends and a lack of motivation. It's difficult to occupy yourself. :?

What! There's so much to do. Instruments to learn, shows to watch, books to read, webcomics to laugh at, music to hear, concepts to discover, tea to drink, dreams to dream . . . sometimes I even find sitting still occupying myself in nothing just the ticket.

I am rarely bored, much of the time I am either on the Internet or I am doing chores. If not doing those things, I will also draw or play video games.

One thing I just thought of, is you could learn to fly a plane. This is thrilling, challenging, and in some careers, dangerous. You would be seeing new things all the time, and some of the weather challenges would provide a thrill. Plus you can be by yourself in the plane, flying solo.

I get bored pretty easily too. I just get tired of doing the same old thing; I hypothesize that having friends and being more socially "in the loop" would help me a lot with this. Sometimes you want to stop reading about and learning about life from a secondary source and start living it yourself. I get bored and restless sticking around at home by myself for too long and want to do something more meaningful.

In your case, Sora, you seem to have a high level of sensation seeking, which means you need novel and highly stimulating activities to sate your boredom.

I've had periods of boredom all my life. More lately I've become aware of different flavors of boredom. The boredom I experienced as a child was more of the restless impatient type that occurred when I was forced to do things outside my obsessions. Now it's very different in nature. The thing I suffer from these days would probably be better described as ennui than plain old boredom. There's an added dimension of melancholy to it. I have trouble finding activities that seem remotely exciting or worth my energy to pursue. I can see how the first type of boredom slowly progressed to the second type after adolescence. I wish I could go back.

My best advice would be to never give up trying to find excitement in life. You have to keep your energy up and keep trying new activities or the boredom might turn into depression like it did for me.

easily fed up [from this place] but not easily bored,am can find interest in tiny or pointless to others-things,one of the staff one day mentioned crotchless knickers, and the word has been stuck in head for weeks, finding it funny all day,as well as the word crotch.

what about getting a remote control car [a proper one,not child one] electric motor only though if have sensory problems with noise.
something outdoors like...watery type stuff, canoeing.gorge walking, forget the name of that fast one.
what about horse riding.
sports clubs for people with disabilities.
archery.

also, have a look to see if there are any 'go ape' parks nearby,am not sure if these are everywhere yet,but these look great, they are high up/in harnesses parks designed for adults though children can use them.

though none of them will be free, could save up.
what about walking, cycling [can get trikes or handbikes if cant ride normal ones]

I wish I had this outlook. I want to be able to see endless excitement and possibilities, but I just can't see the potential magic in daily life right now.

This is something I'm always scared of. Plain old boredom (combined with apathy) turning into depression that is. :?
