Do you also feel that you have some days where you are lower functioning. And I mean, sometimes pretty much lower fuctioning.
Today I have one of those days. I tend to get upset easily and I just can't think clearly.

I don't know exactly how to describe this... Anyone else?

Not sure about myself but my son certainly has his "lower" days when he is much more in his own world and his hand flapping is almost constant. I've noticed he appears more autistic during and after a virus which makes sense as the whole system is affected.

Sure. Some days I'm more obviously autistic than others. Some days I'm less capable than others. (They don't necessarily happen at the same time.)

I think we all do, NT or autistic or any other configuration you could care to think of. It may simply be more noticeable for autistics because we tend to be very sensitive to stress.

I definitely have those days - where I am just stuck inside myself and can't get out. Horrible. :(

I have days where social skills become nonexistant. Don't want to talk to anyone, look at anyone, deal with anyone... not even my other half.

Usually the only thing that can cheer me up on days like that is my dog :P

Me, too! I'll curl up with her and veg out and feel her fur and smell her. (For a dog - she smells nice) Sometimes I'll use her as a pillow. I do it even when I'm having a good day - to recharge. Awwww....I'm going to do it now.

I get them days. I end up not wanting to talk to people or I have those days where I'm all over the place like with school work and I'm particularly unorganised, usually when I'm tired :tired:

Absolutely. While I'm unmistakably autistic every day, I have streaks of days where I am totally withdrawn and detached from the world, and other streaks of days where I can feel somewhat "connected", at least for a decent part of the day.

yes lots of lower functioning days, everyday though i have lots of lower functioning times, but on the days with just all lower functioning, i cant even dress myself, i smear my food, i rock violently, more screaming as communication, wont even sign or use my pecs, and seem much more off somewhere else thats when routine is off, no sleep, refusing to eat, meltdown city, something sensory wise is defintely botherng me and everything it setting me for, and anything change related happened. Its horrible, so i totally feel where your coming from!

its funny because on sunday we had a car show and i was low functioning, i held on to ppls shirts and my eyes somehow go upwards idk why, do one hander flaps, never socialized or interest at all in ppl even know ppl were around me, made noises like mmmmm or eeee noises as i swayed back and forth, tried to bite everybody, no eye contact, no words just signs the whole day, from about 6am-6pm right afterwards i was this hyper running around climbing all over the couch repeating what everybody said, saying my usual phrases and one or two-worders, flapping, spinning, actually trying to seek attention from ppl jumping on them, then night time came along like around 11 or midnight and i started speaking in actual sentences and rather just spend my time rubbing my keyboard, gently rocking, while having an actual conversation with my bf. Three different sides of me in all one day crazy eh? but thats basically a typical day for me, got my very low functioning sides, my moderate then my high functioning hehe, dont ask why it happens couldnt tell ya haha.

So back to the OPs question defintely yes have my low functionign days and times, sometimes im easier to deal with, sometimes im harder to deal with. defintely not alone!

Yes---I have days that I consider lower functioning than others. I thought about posting about this once, but I thought that maybe it was just me that did this. But, it makes sense that this would happen to us. Sometimes I stim more, have less socializing, and become almost completely withdrawn from those around me. Even though I am usually finger flapping or thumb popping most of the time, I can get into the rocking and pacing mode too. I also can get into the mode where I stare/fixate on an object for awhile.

Sure, some days I'm more NT than some car salesmen, and some days I'm completely lost in own shell. I've said in the past, it seems like I have an NT switch which I developed in college, but when the NT switch is turned on, it sucks a ton of energy out of me, and when I run out of fuel or turn the switch off, I'm back to my natural autistic state.

Sometimes, often in things like parties because I have to talk to a lot of people I don't know.

Well...I wasn't posting much until this week. I got wrapped up in ebay and buying pinewood derby cars---recent obsession. Then I have been posting some on games forum. So as far as the main discussions I haven't done as much as I was---but I feel like I'm back in full swing now :D .
