I'm not sure if a thread like this was started, but I like to see what exactly you guys have or know someone who has and how it may differ from Aspergers.

-Autistic Disorder
-Aspergers Disorder
-Childhood Disintegrative Disorder(CDD)
-Rett's Disorder
-Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS)
-None

I have Asperger's but in relation to classic AS I'm like a crystal glass in relation to a ceramic cup.

I voted PDD-NOS, as I am too "spectrumy" to not be on the spectrum but I am somewhat atypical for an aspie. I am assessed as being an aspie, but that was not a real diagnosis....and I don't think I had a speech delay...I do some things that might be difficult for the typical aspie, but there are things that typical aspies do that are difficult for me.

Autistic Disorder

To be super-duper accurate, I'm of the aloof variant of HFA (HFA is Autistic Disorder without an associated Axis-II diagnosis of MR).

I have autistic disorder. This includes the speech delays as well as having to make much effort to understand spoken language when there is more than one conversation going on or when there is background noise.

AS or PDD-NOS. I'm not sure what to pick. AS is my diagnoses but I had a speech and developmental delays. My mom claims I meet the criteria and slip off of it and back on it but how is that even possible if I had a speech delay? Well lot of aspies don't meet it anyway since lot of them have self help skill problems so I'm not alone in this. Only things I was slow in was I started brushing my teeth late and washing my hair and brushing it. I think I was eight when I started to brush it on my own without having my mom doing it. One day I just decided to do it on my own and did. Same as brushing my teeth and washing my hair.

I guess Aspergers I'm in.

Autistic Disorder and Aspergers are both autistic disorders. It's just that Asperger's is a distinct subset of autistic disorder.
