Probably as a very young child it was dinosaurs for me. By age 6 though I became obsessed with large birds of prey, especially the Turkey Vulture (prob. because it is the most common large bird where I grew up in Kentucky).

Now I seem to identify most with the Jaguar/ Leopard because it is solitary (like me) and is keenly aware of its environment. I am always very aware of my surroundings no matter where I'm at - I don't understand this people at the store who can't even hear my loud shopping cart - they'll stand in my way like 5 minutes before noticing.

Always bugs. :3 Because bugs were all around so I could catch them and look at them. Frogs too, for the same reason. But as for animals I like to study (and draw) but don't see often, kangaroos are my favorite.

And after that, skunks!

I'd love to be a kangaroo and jump across the tops of buildings like bat..roo..man. D:
But I'll settle for having a pet skunk. <3
(I keep typing skink on accident. XD;; I was really into skinks too, actually, when I was a kid. Because they have blue tongues. Well, some do. And because I liked the word skink. XD )

The only animal I've ever been obsessed with was snakes. There's none here in NZ so I think that's partly why I became obsessed - they were something new & interesting.

All of them? I love animals! I'll always watch any documentary about animals that's on TV. Animal Planet was my favorite channel when I was growing up, and I still watch it a lot.

My long standing obsessions are hawks, falcons, and foxes, though. I really love birds in general, when I was little I'd make lists of how many birds I saw in my backyard, when I saw them, what they were doing, etc. I also used to know where every hawk within a mile radius of me lived.

I have a slight obsession with falcons right now, I want to get into the sport of falconry. I have been continually obsessed with fish in every way possible from fish as food, pets, the sport of fishing, deep sea fishing, sashimi, etc.

Dinosaurs, dragons, dogs, wolves, foxes, cats, monkeys and lambs.

At first it was lambs because my first ever toy was a wind up lamb that played nursery rhymes. After that I kept asking for more lamb toys. I remember drawing cats on the wall (with wheels as feet) when I was 3. I had a huge obsession with dogs. I only ever had cats so I used to pray for a dog. I loved German Shepherds because of movies like All Dogs Go to Heaven and K-9. Also a neighbour abandoned an old German Shepherd that my dad and I used to feed. I'm not sure how I started to love monkeys, but I still collect monkey toys to this day.
I still love all those animals.

I had a huge fasignation with elephants from around ages 2-7 or so.
After that it was cats/dogs (7-11) followed by rabbits (11-today).
There's something about a shy, timid, elusive little creature like the rabbit that I can identify with so much.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
