Try using Firefox with the Ad Blocker Plus extension. I never see ads or pop-ups.

my dad does that too with calculators or anyhting around puter over slowness or other things. (such as pebcak(problem exist between chair and keyboard)

I use Firefox but sometimes crapware does get through such as bogus error
messages about software I am not using, then it is time break out the heavy artillery
I just got the STOPzilla spyware buster and I did a system sweep last night and I haven't
had any problems since then.
