I also find it interesting that your profile says neurotypical. It seems like most people here who claim to be AS/HFA score above a 26, while those who don't will score below that number, with just a few minor exceptions. I think there may be something to this test afterall, even if some of the questions are worded in ways people don't like.

44 this time. I took a couple of versions and consistently score between 42 and 44.

To Botti and others: My neurologists have heard of this test and consider it a useful screening tool. Out of interest, I had everyone I knew take the test, and only one scored above 20. I had a couple friends answer the questions as though reporting on my behavior (where that is possible; it depends on the question), and their scores for me were in the high 30s.

I decided that I ought to take it again, because I was worried I might have been weighing my answers toward the side of Autism. The second time I took it I scored a 28, and I was consciously trying to keep my answers realistic, so I figure that a 28-29 is probably actually where I fall.

Aoi, I'd be interested to have my friends take the test and try to report my behavior as they perceive it. I wonder if it would be higher or lower.

A close friend of mine took it and scored a 26, and I've been trying to get my family members to take it as well but most of them aren't too interested.

I find it interesting to take this as an adult. I think as a child I would have scored higher, but I really have been working on "chilling out" as it were in the past couple of years - meaning not getting too frustrated that the person taking a left in front of me at a busy intersection didn't plan their route around it (I know, but it really didn't occur to me that that might be irrational behavior for a long time). Things like that.

Part of me would like to go see a doctor and find out if I may have AS but part of me is against such a rigid diagnostic model. I am glad this forum is open to those who have simply taken the test, as I do think that it's more of a spectrum than anything. I suppose I would consider myself a little different based on a score of 29, just as I would consider someone with a score of 40 to be different, but I don't see why these differences have to be part of a divide from normalcy at any point. Why is 15 "normal" because it's the average? Why is 15 not just 15, which is different from 20 which is different from 40?

Of course it helps to have explanations and a sense of identity and access to information and support systems, but I don't like a model that diagnoses only when one is perceived as different enough on a scale created around a neurotypical society (and not a healthy one at that - the media's representations of normalcy are hardly what I would consider healthy).

Just some thoughts bouncing around. :)

Every time I do it, I always score in the range of 38-42.

I scored 28, but there is many questions where I would have liked to see other choices of answer, for example:

- Diplomacy: I can be totally terrible at this, and say the wrong thing too often, on the other hand sometimes I am able to help 2 persons to make peace with each other, so I didn't know what to answer, I said "I agree", but it really depends on the situation

- Noticing small changes: Another question that was tough for me, I can notice a detail like new lipstick color for example, but on the other hand totally miss that the person got a new haircut lol (unless it is really obvious)

- Interruption: Again it depends on the situation and what I was doing, sometimes my answer would be "I agree" and other time my answer would be "I disagree".

- If I can tell if someone is bored: It totally depends on the person, if it is obvious (lets say roll eyes, sigh, etc) then yes I can tell, but if the person is trying to look interested then I cannot tell if they are bored

- Remembering numbers: Again a "I agree" and "I disagree" question, because if I don't need the numbers I don't necessarily pay attention, but if I do need them then I will remember them easily.

There was a lot of questions like that for me where I answered the typical NT answer (I think) but I really wasn't sure what I should answer.

44. I'm still unsure if I have ASD, SAD or I'm a Highly Sensitive Person or a bit of all?

41. But I can't help feel like some questions a bit stereotypical. Are you more or less autistic if you can imagine things? And I can notice changes in people all the time, especially clothing. I'm not sure which questions are referring to ASD and which ones are referring to NT.

38 on the Facebook test. I took a test from an external website a while ago and scored around 35.

I've taken this test a few times before. I try to answer the questions honestly but I think I might not be sure what to make of some of them. Sometimes I'm withdrawn and people can't get much out of me and so it's not really that the person can't get a word in.

I'm between 36 to 38.

I scored 38...first I thought that was a low score, but after reading the score guide, I am definatly on the spectrim. I was diagnosed with PDD-NOS as a child, but as I grew up, my behavior and symptoms are more like aspergers. of course I just tell folks that I have high functioning autism cause most people dont know what aspergers is.
Some of the questions, I never really thought about before, like noticing small details but missing the bigger picture. I have always wondered why I notice things others dont, I thought I was the only one who did this. I can be amazed at the shadow of a rought iron gate to the point it is almost a spiritual experience, but miss the point of why I was sent through the gate in the first place.

My score would have been higher had I liked numbers, dates, math etc, but I dont like them sam I am....no I will not eat green eggs and ham. Pretty much my approach to numbers.

I often express my love for the under-noticed in photography...in some ways it gives others a view into my perception of the world.

I only scored a 29 the first time I took it, I think my score would be much higher if my wife took it for me. Questions about what I prefer and like, are not the same as what I'm able to do and what ends up happening. And jeez, get off the numbers already, I'm good at math but I find it boring, I'm fascinated with shapes of things and how they relate.

Just went up to 34 from 29 this time, I'm still confused by some of the questions. I tried to answer with what I think is the intent, but really, I enjoy the idea of meeting new people, and sometimes I end up liking them even if it is stressful. It's obvious what there asking and I think I should answer no, but I can't help feeling wrong about the wording.
