Do you get annoyed with people's 'eating noises'?

I get annoyed by the sounds of other people eating. I find it irritating and it puts me off my own food when I'm eating. All the squelching and huffing and puffing makes me feel a bit sick.

When I was a kid in school I hated eating with the other children because of this. It was made worse by the fact that they were all messy eaters and always had crumbs and saliva on their faces. :eew:

I don't get particularly annoyed by it unless the person is being *really* loud, but my AS daughter really hates it!

Gosh yes. This makes me so uncomfortable. I try to keep my eating noises quiet!

It's repulsive. I get a seething rage in the pit of my stomach whenever I hear people masticating. In high school I actually never went to lunch (I went to the library instead) and starved so that I could avoid the cafeteria and not be around a massive chewing orgy. But that's just me.

UGH!! !! !! Don't even get me started!! ....wait too late lol.....bleeeh. I hate it!! ! >_< My DAD eats so freaking noisily it KILLS ME! I feel like I could explode when I hear it....I have to put music on to drown it out or just leave the room....::shudders:: It really gets to me....

My husband's jaw clicks when he chews. I keep asking him to see a doctor about it as I'm concerned. But, above anything else, it is really annoying!

Yes, I hate the sound of people eating. Especially people that munch potato chips with their mouths wide open.

Yes, it drives me nuts when people make a lot of eating noises. What's even worse is when they chew gum loudly. That has got to be one of the most annoying sounds there are.

Yesterday I was in a meeting with two people who were both chewing gum really loudly the whole time and I had to really hold myself back from reaching over and smacking them for it. One of them even commented on how annoying it must be to hear it and then continued doing it loudly.

Why is it so hard for some people to just keep their mouth shut while they're chewing?

It doesn't annoy me too much...outside of me wanting to strangle anyone who's doing it. My stepfather likes to come down when I'm in the kitchen ALL THE TIME and start eating something. It's even worse when there is no background noise to drown it out. GAH!! :lol:

I'm relieved that it's not just me who feels that way! I get really irritated when my I can hear my husband eating - all the different sounds drive me crazy. He eats with his mouth shut, thankfully, otherwise I really would get violent :)

I can't hear very well after busting my eardrums too many times. So no, it doesn't bother me.

I remember finding it cute when I used to hear my cat lapping up water. ^^
