It was about chips. Mostly the potato kind. Well while we're on the subject, my favourite chips are thin french fries sprinkled with plenty of salt.

You mean them twig like contraptions that can't even hold the heat so that by the time you have walked away from the serving counter to your table to eat them they are effectively cold?
Suppose they need to be sprinkled with plenty of salt to make them remotely palatable :roll:

The most pertinent poem evar!

The Ballad of Brave Sir Robin

Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin!
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways,
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin!

He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp,
Or to have his eyes gouged out, and his elbows broken;
To have his kneecaps split, and his body burned away;
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin!

His head smashed in and his heart cut out
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped and his bottom burned off

No, she never told me I was stupid, she was (seemed) nice, and told me nicely (the way a person who actually cares about your well being would do) that I should not leave my purse opened and unattended, that someone might steal. But a few minutes later, while still in the store, I caught her telling another person that she had told a "stupid girl" (me) not to leave her purse unattended (and other nice comments about me).

When people give you an advice, it doesn't automatically mean they think you are stupid, most the time they are just trying to help.

People can tell other people things without saying the actual words. By telling you what she did she was trying to make you aware of your stupidity. That was her purpose for speaking to you. Do you see that? She probably spoke nicely because she thought you were a little slow. Smart people are generally aware of the existence of thieves and don't leave valuables lying around. Granted, she shouldn't have spoken behind your back but I wouldn't have thought of her as a hypocrite because she already let you know that she thought you were not too bright.
Maybe I've been around teenagers too much. I remember saying things like, "If you jump off the roof on your skateboard, you'll break your neck." When really I was saying, "Mate, you're twelve different multicoloured kinds of stupid if you're doing that kind of s**t."
Sorry I started this. I was kind of joking to begin with. Jeez, that backfired, didn't it?
This whole conversation is stupid.
Bring on the freakin dragons.

I don't see how absentmindedly leaving a purse un-attended or not thinking about it, as I am sure plenty of 'smart' people have done by mistake is an indication that someone is over-all slow or stupid. Perhaps people shouldn't act misleadingly...if someone thinks I am an entire idiot I'd prefer they just tell me that then act nice so I feel like they are trying to be helpful...only to hear them make mean comments about me later over the incident.

'smart people' are not infallible and can make stupid little mistakes to...I am quite certain.

I hate people who hate people for not hating other people. Your kind should be crucified alongside your semi distant cousin the troll. I cast myself into the race for the leader who will reunite mankind under one banner in a way that pleases all. You'll get my vote!

Also: in reference to the purse thing:

It's not smart to call someone stupid to their face. You might get punched or something!

I don't think it was entirely hypocritical to say your actions were stupid in the bowling alley. Somewhat hypocritical--more hypocritical if the person called YOU stupid.

By I would just let it go, and move on. Really I would. I would quote AnonymousAnonymous in my mind:

"Silly NT's, people with AS are Grrrrreat!"

Where are all the Aspies who are rude as*holes when you need them? I have come across enough of them in the past, f*** only knows. Where have they all gone? Lurkers with attitude problems or chips on your shoulder: join WP for my sake. Please. I need you. I need something to undercut this stifling atmosphere before I choke to death on it, it's so sickly "sweet" and "nice".

Hi NiceCupOfTea,

Please don't get banned. Although I prefer a slightly different style for myself, I enjoy reading your acidic comments and rants.

Best wishes,
