I've never been good with heights, though I once lived on the top floor of an apartment with the living room window facing out over the city.

I'm afraid of people who try to get to know me too well, too soon. For instance, why does the OP want to know what I am afraid of without trying to be friends first?

Death :skull:

Or rather, that bit before death.. so 'dying' I suppose.. (an eternal void of nothingness I can deal with!) but not where you clock yourself out or something that easy .. my friend who had a cardiac remembers nothing

Probably something like being eaten reeeeally slowly by a wild animal and not losing consciousness for aaages

Other than that I'm not afraid of much really.

Anxious to f**k about everything though! It's just not exactly "fear"... as in the fear I experience in eg a 'near miss' dangerous situation.. anyone relate to this?

Eye contact. When I think of people in general I tend to imagine someone yelling and waving their hands in my face.

Having to be in a retirement home. Then my routines and hobbies will be sidelined, and I'll be in a prison where social interaction with strangers is the punishment.

I have an intense fear of heights. I've always had.

I have a fear of heights when, say, I have to jump from a high diving board. I just can't do it.

When there's fences and things to block you from falling from the height, then I'm okay.

Ugh, add a new fear to my long list: a retirement home. I totally agree with you. My fear with that would be having a roommate that would blare a TV all the time when I wouldn't want a TV in my room, period. Needle sticks, people touching me, no peace and quiet, horrible food. Yeah, I'd say hell on earth.

I have a fear of things crawling on me like ticks, earwigs, centipedes, spiders or roaches. I've had all of those crawl on me except roaches (thankfully). Once I'm dead, have at me. I don't fear that. It's while I'm alive.

Venipunctures. I hate them.

Loud noises.

Fear of failing to provide for my family.

Many folks dive from the high dive for fun. You can drown, and you can get killed diving from the high dive. I was in college class with a young guy in a special high tech wheel chair that accommodated every limb and finger because he had become a quadriplegic. Got that way from a diving board accident.

Yet many folks who love to dive off the high dive are SCARED TO DEATH....to do....public speaking!! !! !

I think that that bares repeating.

Many folks who love to dive off the high dive are afraid to do public speaking.

Beyond my understanding how anyone could be more afraid of doing public speaking than of diving off the high dive.

Yeah....public speaking....I'm afraid of that, too....

I'm afraid of lots of things. I used to be afraid of even more things.

But one has to LIVE. One has to try not to give in to one's fears.
