I totally agree with that quote. Does race really exist? Since everyone can breed together we must all be the same species. Right?

I think the reason you respond that way is because you are exactly who I am talking about, the WASP who is always judging everyone else and trying to exclude anyone who isn't WASPy. WASPs put soooo much emphasis on minor characteristics, at least they do around here. Let me guess. You ARE a white anglo saxon protestant? Nothing wrong with that, now could you

If you are going to bring up racism and intolerance exists elsewhere and not just between caucasians, my response, before you go to the trouble of typing all that is:

I am just talking about in my area. The WASPs seem to feel the most threatened and want to do the most brainwashing.

I'm generally a misanthrope under most conditions unless I've found someone that can cook up a mean bit of Indian food and serve it with some strong ale. I equally despise a lot of people equally of all races and varying sexual orientations. On forms that require you to enter your race, ever since elementary school, I always mark "other," just to bugger up the statistics a bit

You have to remember that Australia, like America is an ethnically diverse nation with many different "races".

This is why the concept of "race" is such a failure and will never work in places that are ethnically diverse.

Oh, I am white. I am anglo saxon. Gee, I think I made that clear anyway. My fathers family HAS been traditionally protestant, though I would peg him as an atheist, and I guess I am the same. My mothers family is traditionally catholic. So I guess I am not fully a WASP. For the record, I had a wasp nest at my home, and I got rid of it. I just had to say.

And I am sorry to hear about your experience with other whites. In a round about way, it DOES illustrate part of my point. Such things can be as true in a group of a given race as they can be between them.

That is also unfortunate, because that is what many here, including myself, see. I used to be 100% altruistic. I used to be nice even to my detriment. I was HONEST to my detriment. I didn't just change overnight, or anything else. In fact, a lot of it happened around the time when I was 10, heavily mistreated, lied to, etc.... Still, even when I was in my 30s, I helped people, that were little more than strangers, move. One nearly killed me by delaying us, while another threatened to bring down the building. I say "me", because THEY took their lives into their OWN hands, and risked my life, so I didn't care if the building collapsed on top of them at that point.

That was in a "red tagged"(aka CONDEMNED) building after the 1994 Northridge earthquake. He could LITERALLY cause the BUILDING to shake by shifting weight on the other side of the apartment. Nails on the roof were pulled out like half way. Though I was stranded, because I had HIM drive me to his place so we could get it done, I walked several miles back to my car.

Actually, Australia is by and large more diverse than America. It get's a little strange when there aren't more than four different races occupying a few metres.
Besides which; the concept of race is strong in places like America and Australia - much more so in America, much less in Australia, but you try pulling various second-generation African-Australians apart, after the teenagers of such races decie they want to hate other African-Australians from countries neighbouring their parents' country.
Or, that unfortunate incident in that white-trash little suburb in NSW, where a bunch of pissheads got drunk and decided to fight the lebanese, who, in turn, got drunk and fought the white-trash bogans.

The concept of race is, genetically, real. The ideaological concept is a fallacy, but, like many other ancient fallacies, it will continue for many years to come. Even look, fifty years ago, at Ireland and England. Both white, but the English were extremely racist towards the Irish. Hell, especially Churchill and the rest of the upper-class bastards.

Hating your race probably has nothing to do with being aspie. I have to admit, in the last year Ive started to hate my race and the cultural expectations that come with being an asian female. Nice, sweet, and submissive. Theres a very strict cultural standards that are typically imbedded in asian kids. I often find other asian females smart (academically), obidient, yet somehow brainless. For me, I was only able to pass surface wise as your typical asian female. Im quiet, smart and can be obedient. There are things with being aspie, stubborn, seeing the world very differently then the norm, that just dosent settle with my race. When you get beyond that surface you are not dealing with another sweet submissive girl, hell no!

It wasn't the service, it was the overt nature of it. Some blacks have sued, and won, for discrimination at LESS! At a dennys, for example, one time it took over 20 minutes before they even acknowledged I was there. I think THAT waitress was white. Still, some blacks have sued, even sued DENNYS, for the SAME!



Hey, I do have at least one moslem friend. He is nice and, though the name might have made me suspect, I wouldn't have known if he hadn't told me. Everyone liked him, and I did/do as well. When he told me, I treated him no different.

Still, some loke at non moslems almost like vermin. if you didn't know that, all the attacks, like 9/11 should have made that clear. Granted, some say that wasn't done by moslems, but what they said about it was telling.

One of things I was talking about is the fact that in most of Australian tv is mostly white, only abc and sbs are the most divers. I think there shold be a greater amount of different culture on our tv not just a small show every week on low watched chanel.

Yeah, I hate white people collectively, but that's pretty easy since we've f*cked everything up from the beginning. The hatred rarely transfers to individuals, though. That would be super hypocritical.

Okay, just so you know, so did Amerindians, Asians, Africans, all Europeans, Middle-easterners, and every other race on earth.

Why? That strikes me as odd. Australia is mostly white; so that is a perfectly ordinary thing. The mentality of overt "multi-culturalism" smacks of that false sympathy strewn about when I was a child in school; feel sorry for the minorities. Embrace ethnicity!

F**k ethnicity! That just seems... weird, to "embrace" it, simply because somebody is a foreigner, attention has to be drawn to them.
I've never understood it... It just seems strange to try and feel "sorry" for them. Big deal. How were other races different from any other race again?
None are particularly any stupider than the last.

But, I suppose that could be just my perspective... after all, I'm mixed - damn near every major racial group save Asian.

Personally, I fail to understand "white guilt". So, some white peoples ancestors screwed with other nations.
And? Other nations screwed with other nations - just not in English, and so not well known by predominantly English speaking white people.

Just look at the constant tribal warfare in Africa. I'd say all races are just as violent as the next.

I don't believe in white. There's 'pale' and there is 'dark' and various shades inbetween.
