I got 50% on the buzzer.

Full marks for Joy.
3 marks for Surprise and Sadness.
Half marks for Anger and Contempt.
Null pointer error for Fear and Disgust.

Some worrying Mixups though.
Especially as the half marks I dropped for Anger I had as Joy.

The other one for Surprise I also had as joy. I probably should have read a few and realised there were "four each" and I might have done better.

On the upside I certainly am the optimist. If I were to meet 7 people. Four were happy to see me, one was just surprised, and two were angry... well... I would assume they were all happy. What an outlook!

Doesn't bode well for longevity though.

I didn't do well at all.

You correctly identified 25 % of the expressions.

46% Fear was the worst. I understand anxiety, but I don't think I really understand fear as an emotion.

One thing that struck me was that they were simulating the reactions, so they weren't authentic. Not that it would make a difference.

Whoa, i got 71% correct:

Joy: 3/4
Fear: 0/4
Disgust: 3/4
Surprise: 3/4
Anger: 4/4
Sadness: 3/4
Contempt: 4/4

however, i took my time and literally thought about each one rather than answering on the spot. I'll try again later and see about not answering so quickly. Think that made a difference?

I got 54% right, mainly being poor on what anger and what contempt look like (guess that's because when I feel contempt I feel angry too, and vice versa):

Joy: you correctly identified 3of 4
Fear: you correctly identified 2of 4
Disgust: you correctly identified 3of 4
Surprise: you correctly identified 3of 4
Anger: you correctly identified 1of 4
Sadness: you correctly identified 2of 4
Contempt: you correctly identified 1of 4

I gotta say that chick with the glasses is HARD to read. She looks like she had just one too many hits of good weed to be able to emote properly.

But that's the nature of the Syndrome - ya gotta hit me over the head with it; I miss subtlety every time.

50%, but some of them were kind of frustrating, as they also looked like they could be someone contemplating something to change their minds... and disgust means pretty much the same as the negative emotions to me... I mean, you can be disgusted by something someone did and feel just as frustrated as when you are angry with them initially if it is offensive or rude enough, correct?

Hmmm... I need to work on this skill I think, lol

NT bf took the test and got 43%. He said it was hard to read them as well, because unless he knows what someone is talking about, or what they are reacting to, it's impossible to really claim whether these people are disgusted, angry, or showing contempt about something.

He said if they had the option of "Something's wrong", he would have chosen that.

RESULTS:
You correctly identified 32% of the expressions. For each emotion expressed, your score is as follows:
Joy: you correcly identified 2of 4

Fear: you correcly identified 1of 4

Disgust: you correcly identified 3of 4

Surprise: you correcly identified 1 of 4

Anger: you correcly identified 0 of 4

Sadness: you correcly identified 2 of 4

Contempt: you correcly identified 0 of 4

I expected myself to do better… or maybe rather the verb „hoped’ would be more appropriate – taking such tests I realize facial gestures made by humans really don’t tell me much, even if they’re exaggerated like here. But I don’t need this ability, human behaviors spectrum is predictable, I can predict behaviors of representatives of the human species on the basis of pure logic not what their faces look like. I have a question: did anybody try to guess the facial expressions by making such a face themselves (for example in a mirror like I was doing this with the help of my pocket mirror) and thanks to this recalling themselves from the past in situations where you were making the face to recall what feeling it’s caused by then? That’s how my method looked like – but even this didn’t help because I see I have reached one of the lower scores here.

Seems like I got a better score than many people here. But I apperently do not know what fear looks like
I also tended to answer 'anger' on things that were not anger but were sadness or disgust. Interesting.

Actually, for those interested, have you watched the series "Lie to me?" Its pretty much about a company that works for government groups, and others, to help weed out liars by way of observing microexpressions (minute facial or posture shifts that occur when asked certain questions). Granted, it helped me spot some expressions on this test, but I still dont know how to handle it when the expressions are directed at me. I watch what episodes they have on www.hulu.com. Just search for "Lie to Me."
